Does a bedroom have to have a window in PA? I live in an apartment that was listed as a 2 bedroom. One of the bedrooms does not have a window. Is there supposed to be a window for emergencies or ventilation? Does anyone know the laws for this sort of thing?

How can I turn my three bedroom house in to a movie studio? So I know, huge question, let me layout more details. I will need one bedroom for sleeping, the kitchen and bathroom are off limits. I was thinking about turning one bedroom in to a flexible set and the other smaller bedroom in to an editing room. This was completed 3 weeks ago. The wall in the bedroom has been replastered and repainted within the last week. It still smells damp, and small bubbles are on the paint. How do you insulate bedroom over garage and cold closets? I have recently purchased a 10 year old home and have very cold closets that I can't seem to keep warm in the winter. What was the original intent of a captive bedroom? Can anyone give me details on the original intent of a captive bedroom ( a bedroom in which you must go through another room to gain access instead of a hallway). Was the original intent a sitting room, a nursery, library or was the original intent an inconveneint bedroom? I can't imagine that but, who knows? My kids bedroom stinks like a dead animal What could be the problem? We have cleaned their room from top to bottom thinking that one of them brought food into the room and it rotted....But that's not it. We even looked under the trailer looking for a dead animal and can't seem to find anthing. It reiks of DEAD animal in the bedroom though and its making me sick...not to mention that i am pregnant and can't stand smelly stenches. What color is good for bedroom walls to create a relaxing environment? Right now my bedroom walls are white. It's very boring. The bedroom itself is not real big and the carpet is cream. I have a maroon bedspread that I use in winter, and a cream one in the summer. Other than that, there is no other color to worry about matching. I want something soothing and calm, yet interesting to look at. The doors (including closest) and door frames will stay white. It's an open canvas! I forgot to mention this...I am going for minimal cost...basically a couple of gallons of paint and that's it. So, no new bedspreads or other accessories. Also, right now I have semi-sheer curtains up that are a charcoal brown. Those can be switched with some cream ones I have in another room if necessary...whichever matches my new color.

What are these bugs in my bedroom, and how do I get rid of them? In my bedroom there are little worm-like things spread around certain areas of carpet. I don't know what they are, they may be larvae of some sort. I have sprayed where they appear (often there are several underneath something) a few times with bug spray, but the bugs eventually return. I'm not sure how to describe them. They are anywhere from minuscule to a centimeter long, they appear white or a little orangey with dark circles around them. They either don't have any legs, or their legs are very very small. The don't move very often when I'm looking at them (shining a bright flashlight), but I will find that they have moved since the last time I saw them. I have also seen the rare ant in my bedroom -- really big ones, sometimes with wings. I read on Wikipedia that ants go through a larval stage -- perhaps the little buggers are baby ants? So, can anyone help me find out what the heck these things are, and how I can wipe them out? The ants I saw (Very few -- 3 or 4 over the past year) do not resemble the pictures of termites I have seen on Wikipedia. They are very, very black. I am looking right now at one that I crushed, and there's nothing white about it. This particular ant has wings -- it first drew my attention because it was making a buzzing sound on the floor. I don't know that the buggers in question have anything to do with the Ants, it was just possibility. Calling an exterminator would be a last resort, I would very much prefer to deal with it myself. In any case, I'd like to find out what they are first. Thanks for the answers so far. I took a series of pictures of the bugs, and combined them all into one image. Its kind of hard to tell how big they are because I zoomed in really close and there is no point of reference -- none of them are bigger then a centimeter, and most are a fraction of that. How can I insulate my rented attic bedroom? I rent, and my bedroom is a large attic conversion. It's very energy inefficient—I can feel heat loss through the ceiling even on a cool summer night. How can I make it more energy efficient without making structural changes that will require my landlord's cooperation?
