How to turn white girls bedroom furniture into boys furniture? I have an old bedroom set from when I was a child that is still in great condition. The furniture is sturdy and finish is still mostly in good condition. There are some spots that are yellowing, but they are few and not worth redoing the whole thing over. It is now my little boy's furniture. What can I do to make it more masculine for him? The handles will need to be replaced as they are victorian style, but is there anything else i need to do to make it suitable for a little boy? Im not good at DIY projects but I will try if needed.

Girls bedroom color question. I have soft pink wall, ready to put 4 ft beadboard up with ledges? and paint the beadboard hot pink. I ordered bedroom furniture online, we get it, my husband puts together and it's antique white not white white like the picture online. painting problem in my little girls bedroom? I painted my child's bedroom about 18 months ago and left the original paint behind the wardrobe as it didn't show and I couldn't move it. I have just bought her some new bedroom furniture and this wardrobe is slimmer than the old one, so I now have some of the old paint on show. I went to paint over this with the new paint colour but it's not blending in at all, even though I've got exactly the same colour as I used 18 months ago. The old colour paint just won't go away however many layers I put over it. I just want my child's room to look perfect and cant understand why this is happening.

How should I rearrange the furniture in my bedroom (girl, 16?)? Okay so my room is 10' by 11' so it's pretty much a square. When you first enter my room, the wall on the left (let's just call it wall 1) has the door to my closet, which isn't very big. Anyway, my question is.. where should I position my furniture? I have a double bed, night stand, wide dresser w/ mirror, and I'm thinking of putting a desk in my room too. But it'll look too crowded. Should I just put my bed to the side so it'll look like I have more room in the center? Any help is appreciated, thanks :) @Ghost: Not really, I still have space to walk around & stuff but since I want to put a desk (there's room) I was just wondering if there was another way to rearrange it so my room would appear bigger.

is it legal for a furniture co. to charge my credit card immediately but not deliver for over a month? My husband and I ordered our girls new bedroom furniture a month ago and we just realized today that they had immediately charged our credit card the $1360 for the furniture on the day we ordered it but we still don't have the furniture (they told us it "should" be here in ten days, now they are saying it could be another week or two). I thought that they weren't allowed to charge my credit card until they were getting ready to deliver. I'm very leery that they have already charged my credit card for the furniture that I don't have yet!!! Is this legal?

Refinishing Old Oak Bedroom Furniture ..help!? I'm a 20 year old girl (I like modern and bohemian themed rooms) that is opting to switch my new oversized bedroom furniture with older furniture (that actually fits in my room) from my guest bedroom...The only problem is that the furniture is this hideous 80's style oak furniture with lots of curlicues, cheesy faux-marble (i think its plastic) and frost mirror finishing. I'm thinking of refinishing it with my Dad, but I don't have a lot of experience..(he's decent with power tools). Any ideas to refinish/remodel it ..and overall change it? Or should I just give up now, and keep the oversized new furniture?

How to decorate teen girl's bedroom - light purple walls, dark wood furniture, love music, on a budget...? I have a pretty average sized bedroom with light purple walls, kind of a lavender, and my room feels crowded because I have a lot of dark brown wood furniture. I'm a teen girl and my parents won't let me get rid of anything so I stuck my nightstand in the closet...still crowded though. I love to listen to music and play piano, but I don't know where to get posters or how to fix this room. I was thinking about sticking music notes on my wall but I don't think this will fix it. I also like celestial and some gothic things (not scary/ bloody or whatever comes to mind) just my room is a mess and boring and crowded. Any ideas?
Good bedroom furniture? I just signed an apartment lease and I'm moving in. Cool, but I have more than enough storage for everything I need so my bedroom looks like it's just going to have a bed in it. I don't want to look like I couldn't afford furniture, but since all my clothes fit in my closet (as do my shoes, and coats, and extra blankets), I don't need a dresser. I don't need a vanity, and I don't need a shelving unit, chest of drawers, or desk (that's in my living room) I'm low maintenance, so I don't want loads of furniture for decoration, but since I want my bed in the corner, my room is gonna look...sad. I have enough seating in my living room, and that's nice and cosy, so adding a seating are in my room seems pointless (no TV in the bedroom is my rule). What's a girl to do? What would you put in an underfurnished bedroom? My bedroom is 13 x 12 ft, if it helps...

Teenage girls bedroom idea's?? Ok, I have a pretty big bedroom-only problem is: it was done when I was 8, and it has pink walls, a purple comforter, and it's WAAAY too little girly! My 13th birthday is coming up, and I wanted to change it. Our house is like-a log home, so 3/4 of my walls are olive-green stained wood(I can't say I like it..But I thought I could play around with it..) and wood ceilings, and wood floors. (the ceiling and floors aren't green, lol). I was wondering if anyone had any really cool idea's for a fresh now bedroom, hopefully incorporating music-which I absolutely LOVE! But I also forgot to mention one little(or should I say big!) detail: I have a brown baby grand piano in my room that we're storing for a few years O.O Sooo-the color's I'm really wanting to do are brown and green, with maybe a little white....My furniture is like-victorian(?) style white/ivory. Teen Girls bedroom? I need ideas for my bedroom, I am remodeling it. The room is small, its 8.6ft by 10.9ft. On one of the walls that is 8.6ft is a door, and on the other is a large window in the centre. One of the 11ft walls has nothing on it, and the other has my closet that takes up about 1/3 of the wall. I need ideas for everything; paint, furniture, accessories, EVERYTHING! Remodeling a teen girls bedroom? Color ideas!? When my sister goes to college this summer, I'm moving into her bigger bedroom. My mom wants to mostly do the decorating, but I definitely have some input. She wants to keep it neutral. I'm fine with that. We want like cream or vanilla walls with brown and tan and white furnishings. The furniture I'm gonna have is a small desk for my laptop and homework and stuff, a dresser, a white night table, possibly a vanity, if not another dresser, a flat screen on the wall, and a bed. Ideas for a tween girls bedroom? My daughter is 11 years old and is going into the 5th grade. Her bedroom has 3 walls pink and 1 wall purple. It is really babyish and she wants to redo it. teenage girls bedroom help? so my dad is building a new house and I get the basement since there is a baby on the way I guess it is just easier to put me down there. 14 year old girls bedroom? Okay. I have done my room at my mom's house, but I need to do my room at dad's. I am getting my step-mom's bedrooom suite and am keeping my entertainment system. Decorating a teen girls bedroom (storage is an issue)? OK, I like kinda punky things, but this room is really quite small. I have quite a lot of things, so storage really is a problem. I MIGHT be able to fit in a small double bed, but it would need to have storage. I don't mind single, as long as there's lots of storage... Storage is, as you might have guessed, the biggest thing. I can repaint, but not recarpet. The carpet is a kinda tan/brown, but I'm not adverse to getting a rug. I can't paint the walls black, as the room is small. What does this dream mean? I never remember my dreams but this morning this one was fresh in my mind. I acquired an older victorian house. For some reason the fish floated out of the tank in the air and fly around. Only to fall back into the tank and eat each other. Then my Aunt went into a girls bedroom (furniture was never moved out) only to come back and complain that she could hear a dog eating food in there. There was no dog, but you could hear it. So then we look for the phone that's supposed to be there and discover it's gone. She goes in the bathroom beside the bedroom and says she sees blood streaming down the shower. Then I kept seeing the word Salem. After researching the house I discovered that the room belonged to a girl that was pregnant and her dad wouldn't let her be with her boyfriend. Her family was murdered by her boyfriend and she committed suicide. I can only assume that the dog was killed also. The odd thing is that there wasn't any fear just a sense of what is going on? Any ideas? Oh, and I get 7 hours sleep at night. Don't drink or do any stimulants. I'm pretty normal. No late night scary movies or eating binges Nothing "Tragic" in my past (that I'm aware of) just this dream was real weird. Oh and the reason my aunt was in the room was there were a bunch of "china dolls" she wanted to look at. See if any of them were antiques, etc.... And the fish eating each other would've been impossible. It was freshwater Angel fish and Red velvet swordtails. That's just not possible at all. So, that in itself was just weird.

My sister is offering to SELL her daughers furniture to my son...? My niece is off to college and my sister has decided to update her bedroom furniture to a more adult set. She mentioned to me if my son would like to have the furniture for his two little girls...well, just the other day she called and left a message on my answering machine asking me if they'd still like to have it ...for $300. So I can't draw much on my wallm but she like dots too. Should I do beads at my closet. I have no door there, since my puppy has his bed there. That's the only place he'll sleep. Maybe blue and purple beads alternating. as for arrangiing my rooom there is only one way i like it. my closet and door are on same wall and window on opposite wall. i can't put bed anyther way or it either makes room look small and leaves no flooor space or makes it where i can't get to my dresser (my bed has dresser draws underneath. It is a small room, about 8.5 by 10.5 ft, has one big window on one wall that is about 4.5 by 3.6 ft, the door in on the opposite wall, my closet is on another wall. Help with bedroom decorating ideas for a teen? I have a very cutesy, girl-y bedroom, and I need something different. But my furniture was very expensive and I can't get rid of it. The furniture is a tan color and it has some flowers around the handles of the drawers. There is a big dresser, a chifferobe (just 3 drawers and 3 shelves) a nightstand, and a daybed. I always wanted a gothic style room, but I know that can get expensive and has to be decorated perfectly for it to look right. I also like a room that has a lot of junk, but is organized [does that make sense?] - like lots of cork boards and crates with things inside of them . I like deep colors (like deep purple). Some people have said that a Victorian style would look good - but again it gets expensive and doesn't look right if it's not done perfectly. I don't know how I'm supposed to decorate my room to fit my style and still make it look appropriate with my furniture. Does anyone have ideas? 14 year old girl bedroom. new house new design? My family is moving soon. We were accepted with the credit and are moving November 13th. We only had a $1000 furniture allowance so I am with my old furniture. The room is 11.5 by 12'8" the closet protrudes which is fine and there is only one window. The wall with the window is opposite of closet and door. The wall also has a rust textured wall. It is like marble except rust colored. I was thinking of a natural feel. My furniture is a love seat and a couch at the moment. They are medium dark brown and are staying. I would like to build a coffee table and either buy or build a end table. The coffee table I was thinking would be clean lines very simple legs, only about 1.5 to 2 foot tall and 3 foot long 2 foot wide. I would have a glass top on it and instead of a flat top make a sort of box look with the glass as the top. Place pebbles me and my family collected in the mountains from a stream (roughly 1000 pebbles about quarter size) I am in photography so I would take photos of nature. like we are going back to the mountrians on the 30th of october and the leaves are gorgeous. I would make them sepia the antique brownn and addin family too pets ext. Then add the top and thats the coffee table. In our current living room we have custonm frames for pictures on the wall. I'm going to make a remake of this in using a thin bordered picture frame and hot glueing sticks or pebbles on them. Then on my end table a very simple lamp in a neutral shade with a glass bowl filled with scented pine cones. I would find some cute accent pillows. I need ideas for window treatments and couch loveseat throws. colors for accent pillows and would sunflowers go with the room. I always have a vase of fake flowers. The walls would be a creme color since thats the only color they do besides white and mom says its a new house no need for us to paint it all (if i paint sisters paint their rooms). Let me knwo. My kids are getting out of control? I have been having major problems with my 4 and 5 yr old girls over the last few weeks. They have been getting on their bedroom furniture and jumping off, tearing up their books and toys, not minding at all,and getting up extremely early and taking things from the house that do not belong to them. We have tried talking to them about why what they are doing is wrong( suuch as if you jump of the dresser you could really hurt yourself. Break your arm or leg and have to go to the hospital. And that would hurt very bad and make daddy and mama very sad that you hurt yourself.) We have tried time outs, taking away priveleges like not getting to play with their slip and slide, spanking, if they do something good they are rewarded. I am at wits end. Well this morning I guess I finally lost it somewhat. I have taken all their toys away since they are tearing them up anyway and told them that they had to earn them back. I took out the furniture except for matresses so they cant jump off What else can I do to stop this behavior? Also my 4 year old is going to school and being hateful to other people. Telling them she hates them and they are going to die. And biting. They are already in counseling. Id appreciate any advice. Sorry so long Hoped to cover it enough so as not to have a bunch of people being negative and blasting me.
i NEED bedroom decorating ideas.. (please read details)? i am a 12 year old girl and need bedroom decorating ideas. i do not want any pink stuff. or any sports stuff. i just want a really really really FUNKY cool bedroom that my friends would wish they had. i cant have any huge furniture in my room because it is kinda small. the biggest thing i can have is a normal size bunk bed.
Painting my bedroom? I'm a 14 year old girl who is about to paint her bedroom. I just got all new black furniture. The problems are that my room is to small and that I have two curious cats and a 2 year old nephew who are always getting into things so the color white won't work. teenage girl bedroom decorating help!? so i am redoing my bedroom and could use some help. i bought my furniture from ikea (http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/00067830) in white. i have light colored wood floors which will be staying so i would liek a paint color which would compliment them. now my biggest problem is finding a duvet cover, NO WHERE seems to have nice ones, they are all just solid colors. i was thinking about painting my room blue, it is currently a light purple and i am pretty sick of that. okay well i would really appreciate all of your help im kinda stuck, thanks! just a little bit to add. i'm sixteen years old so whatever i do to my room will be pretty permenant since i'll be going to college in two years. all my funriture is white a dresser and chest of drawers from ikea. they have brushed silver hardware, and i have a metal bed frame. i really need to try and find a duvet first and then pick a color to paint my room since this has proved to be the most difficult part. i have to paint my room because i had to get a wall patched. again i would really like to find a duvet first and not something too kiddy and tweeny either. something that i can have for a while and not get sick of. thanks again.
Im thinking of redoing my room? Okay so heres whats up me and my siser shared a room,basically it didn't work to well so I moved down the basement. The basement is pretty big theres a stair case that seperates the laundry side from my side. Im getting carpet down there,but theres some pipes on the walls and near the ceiling. So I was wondering what I could do with that? Also I was wondering if you could give me some pictures of teen girl bedrooms? Or sites that have nice bed spreads and furniture?
Do you have any ideas of ways to decorate a teens bedroom? Im 16, female and wanting to completely change my room. At the moment i have pale green walls and all of my furniture is white, except my bed which has a silver frame. Im a girly girl but i don't want it to look to immature. Help decorating teen bedroom? For my 13th birthday my dad is letting me redo my bedroom. I love music and I play the guitar so I want to do a music themed room. I have almost black furniture with silver hardware. There isn't a set limit but it can't be too expensive. Any decorating ideas would be greatly appreciated. P.S. I'm a girl.
