Where can i buy modern bedroom furniture in NY? Like beds, drawers, lamps etc. im going to remodel my room.

Where can I find cheap, modern, bedroom furniture? I'm trying to redecorate my bedroom, I've been looking all over on the internet any everything that I've found is WAY out of my price range. I'm trying to spend no more than $500, and all I really need is a headboard, night stand, and dresser. If you could help me out that would be wonderful.

Don't even say Ikea because Ikea has absolutely nothing, it's like the same thing over and over but with one differentiation. Refinishing Old Oak Bedroom Furniture ..help!? I'm a 20 year old girl (I like modern and bohemian themed rooms) that is opting to switch my new oversized bedroom furniture with older furniture (that actually fits in my room) from my guest bedroom...The only problem is that the furniture is this hideous 80's style oak furniture with lots of curlicues, cheesy faux-marble (i think its plastic) and frost mirror finishing. Wall color for a modern bedroom...? Hey guys, I need your help with painting my boyfriend's bedroom. He's 25, his taste is definetely modern, and right now his bedroom colors are white, black, blue. He has black furniture and black window blinds with no window treatments. The rug is made up of squares with different shades of blue with a few gray tones in it and it takes up half of the room. The room is fairly average(I don't know the exact measurements-but it's a perfect square) and his flooring is a honey colored wood. What color should I do his walls and what decorating technique? I was thinking like an ash-blue and the technique suede. Need some more ideas! Thanks! Plus, I wanted to add some red to the decor but he's afraid it might be too harsh or loud. Interior design ideas? Working with modern furniture in small condo!? I'm moving into a new condo. Long story short, it's owned by my boyfriend's uncle.... so he's giving me all of the furniture that's in there. It's a very small one-bedroom. I wish I had a picture, but I don't. It's got white walls, white carpet, white ceilings, and black furniture. Black leather sofa, black tv stand, black dining room chairs, black stools, black oriental-inspired dresser, and a black bedframe with a semi-circle headboard. The coffee table is a rectangular piece of glass over a really awesome panther-sculpture. The panther's shoulders and hips hold up the table. The only splash of color is the cabinets in the kitchen that have been painted a bright turquoise. The condo is much more modern than my tastes, but I'm willing to work with it. The only problem is.... I'm not completely satisfied with the way it looks just yet. I hate having so much white and black in a small space. I like the contrast, but it's too overwhelming. Another issue is my furniture I'm bringing with me is mostly earth colors like brown and beige. Any ideas how I could make this work? Suggestions for painting the wall another color? Or possibly the cabinets? I'm fine with turquoise but if there's another color that works better I'm willing to give it a try. Thanks!

repainting bedroom furniture with carving help!? I have a set of bedroom furniture that I've had since the late 80's. Its an ugly laminate with mirrors and carved out designs on half the drawers. How do I refinish this? I took one of the drawers off and have started experimenting on it. I puttied over the carving and sanded it primed it and spray painted it a dark brown to match my new bed. The problem is you can still see the carving through the paint. I want it to look modern and smooth. I am planning on stenciling over the mirrors and have managed to scrap the last bit of gold off them, but I am at a loss with the carving.

What kind/style of bedroom furniture has a "fan" design on it? Hi, I don't know if this is a stupid question, but you know how there are various styles of furniture? Like contemporary, traditional, transitional, and even more specific categories like shaker or mission style, etc...? Well, what term is used to describe that traditional style furniture with a fan design etched into the wood (like on bedroom dressers, chests, etc..)? I saw it once online and the store used a term (like shaker, missionary, but not those) to describe it and I completely forgot. I thought maybe someone who knows a lot about furniture styles would know. I'm pretty sure there is an actual name, like how houses are Victorian or Colonial or modern, etc... Moving in together-how to blend modern and shabby chic furniture? My boyfriend and I are moving in together, which I am very excited about...however, we have *very* different styles of furniture from our two different apartments. Everything in my apartment is pastel, antique, and "shabby chic." I have a dark rose loveseat, an antique wood trunk I use as a coffee table, a pale green bookcase, and pale blue antique stand. He has all dark wood furniture, a modern glass coffeetable, and a tan/light brown couch. This is a small one bedroom apartment. Is there a way to make this all work? I need help creating a "modern" victorian Master bedroom feel...? I just redid my entire master bedroom and something is not right... My husband and I bought a gorgeous burgandy comforter with matchng curtains, all of which have big gold flowers on them with olive/ sage green leaves. Our furniture is a deep walnut color and I just painted the walls to match the leaves. My husband LOVES it... me not so much... it needs something. It looks like a room in a little old lady's victorian home, pretty... just too grandmaish for me. I feel like something could jazz it up a bit and make it feel a little more modern, but not sure what. I prefer the less is more concept, I can't stand clutter or business. Throw in the fact that I am very practical and this room is small and has a king size bed, but we're not changing it or the comforter set. The hardware is gold and two pictures that we have up and for sentimental reason will not come down are both framed in antique gold... I know... it doesn't help matters. So far one wall is bare. Any ideas? P.S. the trim around the doors, floorboard, and closet itself is white. I like the black idea... would it clash?

I like IKEA (Swedish furniture store) and their prices but...? I kinda don't like their quality. I mean, don't get me wrong, some of them are actually durable and long-lasting but a lot of them (if not most of them) you have to assemble yourself, they break and just don't last long... What color bedding would go well in a lavender bedroom? The trim is white and the carpet is smoke gray. The furniture is all birch. So far I've mostly found bedding that has lavender flowers and things of that nature but I would like something more modern. How should i re-do my bedroom? My parents are going to re-do my bedroom for me, but I'm stuck on what I should do. I was thinking of doing a "Black and White New York city" theme. I would get all new MODERN furniture, a club chair, full length mirror, and then black and white photographs of the city. The color of my walls is a grey/blue. My other option is a "New York luxury hotel" theme. Need some ideas for a French colonial bedroom!? I recently moved to a new house and recently I saw Marie Antoinette. I love the French Colonial theme with the pretty blues and gold. I would really like to do the blues and rich golds in my bedding. So now I am on the quest to find bedding, excessories and things I can put on my dressers ect. My furniture is a deep almost cherry wood. If people can give me ideas and also put down websites with the specific items it would be most appreciated. Such as lamps, clock, bedding, mirrors, hatboxs, excessories for my tabletops, vases, urns, or other items for my room. Also websites with ideas for a French Colonial theme ideas are also accepted. decoration ideas, for my new home? I'm getting ready to purchase my first home. I need some ideas for color schemes, etc. The bathroom is taken care of- the bottom part of the wall is to be a regular/dark purple perhaps tiled, the top half is to be painted a light purple to lighten up the room. The toothbrush and soap holders are the same and the shower curtain is the darker purple. Is it ok? As far as the rest of the house we will redo bit by bit. We like sort of the modern stuff and bright colors. Nothing too drabby. Living room- The entertainment center and end tables are black the tv and speakers are silver/black....please create something with this. will dark purple, brown, or cobalt blue walls visually recede or make the room seem smaller? i'd really like to paint my small bedroom's walls a dark cobalt blue, dark purple, or dark chocolate brown because those are the colors that relax me and i feel they'd make the room more intimate and sophisticated (my furniture/etc. is modern, clean lines, etc.). i'm wondering if these colors will visually recede or if they would make it seem like a tiny cave. what are your opinions? thanks in advance.
