Hi, I don't know much about furniture other than saying something is cute or not, but I was told by a friend that I should stick with solid wood construction and avoid veneers, but I noticed that there are a lot of different varieties of wood used in different furniture sets. So far I've seen pine, maple, oak, alder, cherry, and mahogany. What's the best? What makes it best? What makes other wood cheap or poor quality? How to paint over cheap wood veneer? I have our bedroom set that I would like to paint all a solid black color. Not shiny, just like a dull color. It is wood but on top of the wood is a cheap veneer finish. Right now the color is black and nasty orange fake wood color (two toned). I want an over all black elegant look. Why are mattresses so ridiculously expensive? Everyone needs them. It's just a bunch of springs and foam and usually inexpensive material covering it. $1500 is TOTALLY ridiculous for a plain ole mattress and box springs. You can get a whole wood bedroom set cheaper that a lump of metal and foam.

Cheap Bedroom Decoration Help - Please Answer!? Hi! I'm 12 years old and I have just recently gotten my own room, after years of sharing it with my younger sister. My room has a bed, a bookcase, two large pillows that go on the floor, a desk, a chair, a built-in closet, and another bookcase type thing with a television on it. I have a dark sea-green carpet and white walls. I really need help decorating my room! It looks so blah: the bed has white sheets and a white headboard, the desk is white, the bookcases are white and brown, and it's just so boring! I need VERY cheap ideas to help me like my room better. Right now I hate it :P My fave colors are blue, green and sea-green. I like reading and writing stories. Does anyone have any ideas on color schemes? I'm not allowed to paint. I also need ideas on how to set the room. It's squarish with the closet at one end. Where should I put my bed? My two bookcases (one is slightly smaller then the other)? My desk? My huge on-the-floor cushions? Should I use rugs? What should I do? Also, I was shopping yesterday and saw these bedspreads: Pink and white striped pillow and bedsheet with red, white and pink hearts comforter. Green and pink criss-crossed sheets, green comforter, green pillow with pink frill around it. Dark green bedspread with red flowers. Which one should I get? Where can I get cheap bedroom furniture? My husband and I are looking for bedroom furniture for under $700. Everywhere I go, you get a bed and one nightstand and they call that a set. Here's what I'm looking for in a set: one full/queen bed (that does not include the mattress), TWO nightstands, and at least one dresser (if I can get a chest, too, that would be great, but one dresser is fine - it does not have to have the mirror). I want to spray paint a brand new bedroom set, what kind of spray system should I be looking for.? The set is pine in a honey coloured wood finish. Not sure what it is. I have read an HDLP spray is ideal. Trouble is when I go to my local lumber yards none of the spray guns from the cheapest to the most expensive have HDLP on the package and none of the staff in 6 different locations have ever used one or know anything about them. Decorating the bedroom need some ideas? My boyfriend and I are busy decorating our first house before we can move in. We are onto the bedroom and need a cheap easy but stylish way of decorating it. There is a hideous red carpet down at the mo which will go eventually...if i have my way! He has bought a black/white duvet set with diamond pattern on, ( I havent seen it yet) and he was wanting to just paper the room white i think it would look too cold. The paper has to be embossed kind due to the state of the walls. He also has some black and white prints of New York he is putting up. Suggestions for bedroom set with lots of storage? I just moved and the bedrooms in my new home are a fraction of the size they were in my other home and the closets are basically worthless... So, I'm trying to find a way to accommodate the stuff I had from my old house into a smaller bedroom with no closet space and it isn't easy. What is a cheap and easy way to get my laptop set up for wireless internet at home? I have an older laptop with wireless capabilities - but it has Win98... My DSL is connected in my bedroom and for some reason won't work in the other jacks in my house. Anyone know any cheap furniture websites? I'm looking for Living room and Bedroom sets in particular. I've checked out some places like Ikea and overstock.com, but most of their stuff is way out of my price range. Overstock.com is way overrated imo. Don't get me wrong, I know I'm going to have to fork over a good amount of cash no matter where I shop. But I'll be damned if I'm gonna pay 2 grand for a !@#$%^& sectional. I'm just looking for some more realistic options here.
does anyone know of a "CHEAPER" way of moving out of state? We're planning on relocating from Austin to Oregon and although we're not taking (hopefully) any of our big furniture items, we still have personal items like 2 tv's, clothes and other misc personal items that we do not want to leave behind. Any suggestions on a cheaper way of moving?? We're not taking our living room set, washer & dryer and the bedroom sets. Most of our stuff we can't part with is just stuff we've collected over the years, and the kids stuff. So any suggestions would be great!!!
Where to buy nice and cheap cushion covers? I'm bored of my bedroom and on a low budget. I got a new duvet cover set and some other stuff, now I need new cushions to go with them. Where can I find It? I would prefer to go at the store, but it can also be on line.
