decorating kids bedroom & bathroom? My boyfriend and I don't have his kids stay with us very often so when they do all 4 of them stay in the same bedroom. We haev two sets of bunk beds. 80's/90's kids show. Involving an elephant and a hot water bottle in a kid's bedroom.? I remember some show I used to watch as a kid, it was set in a child's bedroom and his toy's used to come to life. The main character was a blue elephant possible called Howard or Hector or something like that. It olso involved a hot water bottle and aremote control monster truck. It was not a cartoon and I think it was from Australia or New Zealand, I can't remember any more, I haven't seen it for about 13 years. Why cant kids go right into an adult size bed? My daughter is 11 months. People are saying a toddler bed is a waste of money and to get her a twin size. Anyone have any creative ideas involving housing a family of four in a two-bedroom apartment? There are two adults and two children (ages 8 and 6) in the family, and I'm looking for a cteative way to house us in a two-bedroom apartment. Since I have one girl and one boy, each has one bedroom right now, and my boyfriend and I sleep on a futon in the living room and I share the closet with my daughter, he shares the one in my son's room. It's nice for the kids because they each have a fairly large room to themselves, but my boyfriend and I don't have much privacy! I'm trying to think of other ways to make the situation work....and we're looking at another apartment, also with only 2 bedrooms (because getting a three-bedroom where we live is very difficult and it costs almost twice as much as a two-bedroom!). Anwyay, this new apartment we're considering has one of it's bathrooms in the master bedroom, which means whichever kid gets that room will get the bathroom and the other three of us will have to share the remaining bathroom. Is there another way we could set things up? We like where we live (a block from the beach) and don't want to move to another area!! :P I really don't feel it's appropriate for an 8 year old girl and a 6 year old boy to be sharing a room (in fact, in some states, it's illegal, if I'm not mistaken!)

What priviledge does a single-mom have with the bedroom size with a boy and girl? I am a single mom of a boy age 8 and a girl age 10. We have lived in my mothers's basement sharing the same space for 6 years, now we have a 2 bedroom apartment and I being the parent took the larger room and gave the children the smaller room. I have not received to much applause for doing that from the grandparents but everyone else, such as friends and my sister thinks it's the priviledge of being the parent and the children should graduate to a larger room after cleaning and learning to keep their smaller room in order. Why does it seem like a new houses that are being built or showhomes? have incredibly SMALL kids rooms! I mean you couldnt even put an entire bedroom set in them, maybe a bed and a night stand and a dresser if you are lucky, but they would be crowded together. I think new homes are getting too small in the bedrooms for kids, am I the only one who thinks this? I mean if you look in those books on how to make awesome kds rooms the rooms are so damn big! Living in a 1 bedroom apartment with 2 kids? Newly single mother.. I have a 15 month old and I'm 5 months pregnant. I can't afford a 2 or 3 bedroom apartment now, or anytime soon, and I can't stay at my parents house for much longer. I feel like I need my own space for when the baby is born. A 1 bedroom would be easier, possibly doable. Would it be weird for me to rent a 1 bedroom with myself and two girls? They'll only be 1.5 yrs apart in age so they'll both be young while we live there. How do I make that work..? Set up their room in the bedroom and then I sleep in the living room? Does anyone remember a kids tv programme from the 80's where a ghost appeared in a four poster bed? I think he appeared when the main character walked into the room and the ghost would offer them some advice, he'd then disappear. If i remember the setting was in a bedroom within a castle or an old grand house of some sort. I'm sure the ghost wore victorian style clothes. Should I move my 5 year olds bed into my bedroom? I'm a Mum of 2.9 kids. An almost 5-year-old who has just started school, an almost 2-year old, and a baby due soon. I have a small house with only two bedrooms. I co-sleep with my 2 year old currently in the same bed (and very happily may I add) and will also be bringing the baby into my bed. My children have never used cots, and the 5 year old stopped co-sleeping and went into his own bed when he was about 3. Got all that? Good :) Now, my house is so small that my kids don't really have anywhere to play... except for the 5 year olds bedroom. So I am considering putting his bed in my bedroom and setting his old room up as a playroom. So we would all be sleeping in the one bedroom, and the kids could have their own space to play and do their own thing in that room. It would also deal with the fact that the 5 year old is going to be a bit miffed at being the only child not allowed to sleep in mummys bed. I'd like to hear from other parents who have young kids sharing their bedroom (if not their bed) about their experience, and the pros and cons of it?

How long is the current wait for housing on Vilseck/Grafenwoehr? E6 w/ 3 kids. So, 4 bedroom, right? We are set to move to Vilseck (3rd Squadron, 2 SCR) in March. I am trying to get an idea on how long the wait is for housing. Army One Stop does not have current info. I know that there are quite a few soldiers coming when we are, so I am hoping the wait is not too long. We have a baby due only 2 weeks before our report date, so I am worried that the passports will delay me, and then they won't let me come out until my husband finds housing. I know they are deploying soon, so I hope we are not apart for months waiting on housing.

We're planning on relocating from Austin to Oregon and although we're not taking (hopefully) any of our big furniture items, we still have personal items like 2 tv's, clothes and other misc personal items that we do not want to leave behind. Can a landlord control how many people live in a rental house? I am in a difficult situation right now, I have 4 kids, I'm getting a divorce and have no where to stay until I get child support lined up...my Aunt offered to let me move in with her, we got the bedroom all set up for me and the kids, and today the landlord (who lives next door) calls and says she changed her mind and we can not move in afterall. At My wits end! How to get these kids to respect their belongings? I have twins, 7 year old girls. They'll be 8 in Dec. Anyway, we were fortunate enough until last year to give them just about everything that a couple of little girls could want. They have a ton of toys, video games, movies, and even have 2 computers in their bedroom. They have a hamster in their room as well. Anyway, we are not so fortunate now as my husband lost his job. The girls have always abused their personal belongings. I want them to have nice things , so I replace them. They continually trash their room putting hamster food and water in their kitchen set and in their rug. They constantly have papers and toys all over the floor. Their dolls are colored on. Their dvd collection only half works because they just throw the dvds on the floor or wherever when they're done watching them. I put them to bed and when I go in their room to check on them, I find them sneaking back over to the bed.

how do you teach kids to not be show offs? step daughter is 7 years old, she has been showing off and likes to make other kids jealous of her. How can we help this behavior change? one example, if we go get jamba juice or something, shell wave it infront of her aunt or cousins saying "i got jamba juice! i got jamba juice" in an annoying song tone. (we told her she had to share since she was bragging) We recently bought her a new bedroom set(she needs it since she is living with us and has her own room) and she says to me that her cousins are going to be SOOO jealous of her. Yeah, there is a horror comic book called Creepy Tales, I believe, that included a wicked story in the late '60s about a demonic hand that pops out of the sewers and crushes kids it snatches from their bedrooms. The mother argues in court that she believes that there was too much conflict in the fathers home between the father,mother and the new wife. The father argues in court that the mother is not setting a good example by staying on welfare and not working at least part time to show the children responisibilty as well as contribute to the children financially as well. Welfare in CA will allow you to stay on assistance for 3 people as long as your income doesnt exceed $1750 this is why she will not get a job because she doesnt have to with the system enabling her. Extra tidbit- the mother refuses to come to an agreement to fly the children to see the father therefore the court rules he has no visitation with the children and the support was raised to $1000

how do i tell my boy fried i don't want his kids to come over.? i know that sounds terrible. I will try to explain. First of all, i never know if they are comming or not, which makes it difficult to plan any activties or even dinner. When they do come, it is not for long, and I am rushed to get dinner cooked and feed them. I have 2 children of my own and the age diffrence is is great. Mine are 4&8 his are 12&15 ,so they have diffrent sets of rules. It is hard for my children to seehis kids be able to do things they can't. Basically when they come over my house and routine are turned upside down. My kids share a bedroom, and there is no room for his. Honestly, I don't really like them too much. They are BRATS and they go back and tell their mother everything that goes on at my house, so I have to walk on eggshells around them. I have tried in the past to work it out. My boyfriend purposely keeps that part of his life seperate from me, but he is helping me raise my children, and they have a father whom they see regularly. I know that there are quite a few soldiers coming when we are, so I am hoping the wait is not too long. Setting up a bedroom for a 3 year old boy? My fiancee and her 3 year old son are moving in with me next week. She's been a single mom since he was born. How many people to 1 bd in Utah? My husband and I will be moving to utah soon. We are considering renting a 1 bedroom just to keep our costs as low as possible until we get settled. We have 2 children one who is almost 3 and a 1 1/2 year old. We would put the kids in the bedroom and set up the living room as our own room. Well the baby is here and he still wants to be with me. he is even talking of moving closer or (with) me? I'm still not sure if I should stay and ride it out. At what age would you let your child have a bedroom up/down stairs? I'm looking at buying a house. We currently have no children, but surprises happen! Anyway, it's a perfect house for us, except it only has one bedroom on the main level, and two bedrooms upstairs. Which means my child would have to stay with us in our room until he/she was old enough to be trusted with the stairs. There's no bathroom upstairs either (and no room to add one!) so I'm just worried that my kid will wake up in the middle of the night, still be groggy and uncoordinated and fall down the stairs trying to get to me or the bathroom. I'd plan on our child being with us until they were around 1 anyway, but it would be nice to have some privacy with my husband again eventually, unless I just set them up a little space in the living room or something with their bed, and we'd retreat to our bedroom for the night. What's your ideas? I've never been around kids my whole life, so I don't know when I'd trust them to be alone. There's other risks like if there was a fire? I suppose another solution would be to block off the stairs really well and us temporarily stay in the other bedroom so he/she could come and get us if they need to potty or have a bad dream. While it would be nice to live in a huge mansion with bathrooms for every room, I have to be realistic and buy what we can afford as a family, and this is the BEST house we can get in our price range, and it has everything else we're looking for. I don't think we'll come across a better house for the price, so not buying it is out of the question. The reason we can't afford anything better is because we've decided I will stay home will we have children and not work, so we want a mortgage payment that will allow us to do that. I think spending time will my kids will be more important than them having their own bathroom upstairs. Sorry, when* not will Actually, a one level home would not be cheaper than this house. It's already gone through foreclosure and we are getting it at a great price (which is the only reason we can afford it). We can't even afford a two bedroom 1 bath on the regular housing market here. The real estate is expensive, and wages are low. It's horrible. We can only afford $700 a month tops, and the average house is 225,000 here. You can't get anything decent under 120,000 here, (even in the bad parts of town) and that would be around $1,000 a month) so we're lucky to get this one. It would be more realistic to spend a few thousand building another room onto the first level than to look at buying a different house. ...........This is going into too much detail. How do you discipline your kids when they are really bad? I have a sister who is a single mom with 3 kids. 2 girls-ages 13 & 11, and 1 son thats 3. She asked me to stay with her for awhile since she has an extra bedroom and it would financially beneficial to both of us. Access restriction using Linksys wireless router.? I have a linksys wireless router. The second computer is in the kids bedroom. I have been into the linksys router to "access restrictions" and have tried setting the time to restrict access after 10 pm. This has not worked, I even tried to shut it off completely. How do I get this to work? I just don't want the kids on after 10 pm. I am thinking that maybe I didn't get the mac address right but I am sure I got it through the command prompt ipconfig/all-"physical address. Does anyone know how to make this work?

My girlfriend doesnt want to have my kids around her? My girlfriend and I have been living in her home for aproximatley 2 years. I have my children every other weekend to stay with me. We have set up 2 seperate bedrooms for them in her house when they stay over My son is 16 and my daughter is 11. A couple of months ago she said that my children are not her resonsibility to entertain or to mother when they are over. So she is either going to leave and stay in our cottage home or I am to spend those weekends with the children at the cottage so she can have her space and not be bothered with them. So each weekend I have been staying at the cottage with my kids. She says if something is going on I could invite her to join us. but sometimes there is just spending time together. I have moved out of our home together and I am now living full time at the cottage. She says she loves me but my ex wife and family are not hers and she doenst need to be involved with any of those issues that arise.

How do I stop house next door being rented to students? The house next door has been purchased and is now being altered from a three bed family home into a 6 bedroom student house. I have spoken to the planners and they dont need any form of planning and I have called the local council to object as it is a residential area they came round and spoke to all the residents and said nothing we can do . We lived next door to students for 4 years until we had to move , the music , the swearing the parking , the drugs , the door bell at 3am friends looking for the student house , the rubbish , the parties every night , even set fire to there garden , the general disregard for anyone else any suggestions what can we do or do we have to move again. I do not think all students are the same but having lived next door to students for 4 years most were rich kids who just upset everyone and got drunk.

What can I do about my neighbor putting up a "spite" fence? Our property lines are very close (less than 4 ft off my house) and my neighbor put up a six foot tall stockade fence that completely blocks view, light, and air from my kids bedrooms. The fence is only set 2 inches onto his property therefore he is unable to maintain both sides without tresspassing on our property. The fence does NOT provide privacy as it only covers the side of my house and does not divide our yards! This is a spite fence! Local town officials claim that they can not help and would have to file a civil suit. Are there any alternatives? Help please!

Parents: What art supplies do your kids use? We are bringing a ton of art supplies to the homeless shelter and having kids paint, draw, or sculpt anything they want (within reason of course). Then were are going to action off the items and use the money to add 5 more family bedrooms into the shelter (it is set-up like a hotel with a seperate room for each family/single). How do I arrange internet parental controls? My nine year old son has a computer in his bedroom which he usually only uses to play kids games. However, my husband has been having a look in the history and it seems that my son has been searching Google for more interesting things than just games. I have set Yahoo as his homepage and blocked Google. I have set Yahoo Safesearch to ON, but stuff still seems to be getting through.
