Where can a find a good quality, chocolate brown bedroom set with a modern feel to it? I am looking for something chocolate brown with a modern feel to it for a king size bed. I've found some nice sets but all were really poorly built. I am looking for something made out of real wood with corner block reinforcements in the drawers and screws, not just staples and glue. Am I being too picky? Do they just not make good quality furniture anymore? Please help.
What accessories to put with my dark wood modern bedroom set? I have a matching complete martha stewart bed room set with the exception of the headboard, footbard, and rail because it just didnt fit. But anyways the knobs and mirror are silver but not a shiny silver. What can I add to my night stands and in what color and style? What color photo frames? What decorations to add? By the way 2 walls are the color of chocolate shake (not too dark) and the other two are caramel (not so dark either). And I have lighter color wood blinds.

Websites for bedroom furniture? I want new bedroom furniture. I like dark colors, modern, simple, teenager style, and comfortable. Do you know any websites where they might sell furniture like this. It doesn't have to be everything I listed, but pretty close. I'd also like it if the website had a desk that matches the bedroom set. Nothing too pricey (under $2,500) and pretty good quality. Thank You! Also, if you know a website where I can find accessories (lamps, sheets, ect.), then pleas list! Thanks again.

Modern Bedroom color sceme and comforters? I'm 15 years old and am redecorating my room. I am looking for a more modern and contemporary look to it. I want it to be bright and fresh and open. But I've been having trouble finding a comforter and color scheme. I saw this comforter: http://www.home-and-bedroom.com/lawrence-green-tea-comforter-set.html But it is discontinued. So I'm looking for something like that, light and fresh. If you have any ideas for color schemes, that would be great. Also if you find a comforter you think would be good, then give a link to the page. Thanks!
What would you choose Black, or a Dark Cherry Bedroom Set and Why? For decoration purposes, and whats hot right now would you say. Black to me seems modern and I like that. I just got my bedroom set delivered today, and they brought dark cherry instead of black, screwing up the order, sigh. Trying to decide if its worth it to go through the effort to get the Black, which I wanted first.

I have a 50 + year old bedroom set and I need to repair/replace mirror clasps.? The clamps that are on the dressing set mirror are plastic and there are only two left, there should be at least 4. They are not like the modern ones that I have found, the screw hole is on the other side. I would love to just replace them if possible, I want to keep this mirror in it's original condition. I had a mirror guy tell me to use glue.

What color of paint goes with dark brown mid-century bedroom set? I would like to paint my bedroom and I have a bedroom set of 1950's modern dark brown wood. What paint colors would look good with this? And, my bedroom has some funky windows what are kinda of off center one...which is long and thin is placed right next to the closet and the second is placed off center in the wall that faces the bedroom door...Should I look for drapes that match the paint color or do I look for ones that have some of the bedding colors, also do you have any ideas on bedding colors. Thank you in advance for your help.
I need help creating a "modern" victorian Master bedroom feel...? I just redid my entire master bedroom and something is not right... My husband and I bought a gorgeous burgandy comforter with matchng curtains, all of which have big gold flowers on them with olive/ sage green leaves. Our furniture is a deep walnut color and I just painted the walls to match the leaves. My husband LOVES it... me not so much... it needs something. It looks like a room in a little old lady's victorian home, pretty... just too grandmaish for me. I feel like something could jazz it up a bit and make it feel a little more modern, but not sure what. I prefer the less is more concept, I can't stand clutter or business. Throw in the fact that I am very practical and this room is small and has a king size bed, but we're not changing it or the comforter set. The hardware is gold and two pictures that we have up and for sentimental reason will not come down are both framed in antique gold... I know... it doesn't help matters. So far one wall is bare. Any ideas? P.S. the trim around the doors, floorboard, and closet itself is white. I like the black idea... would it clash?
Does anybody have a bed like this? http://www.eroomservice.com/files/d_169.jpg and if so, do you like it? is it weird sleeping so low? i am thinking about getting a modern bedroom furniture set.
What color should I paint my bedroom walls? I am redesigning my room (I have had the same beach themed bedroom since I was 7--I am now 16), and I need your advice! I bought a blue and black comforter with the matching pillows, but I don't know what color walls would compliment it without overpowering it. I have a white leather bed frame, white side tables and dresser, and dark wooden flooring. Any ideas where I can find some hot and stylish bedding or comforters for my bedroom? I am re-decorating my bedroom this summer, and I'm having real trouble trying to find a bedding set or comforter that would make my room look hot. I'm going for a creative rock look. I want It to look feminine but not to girly. I also want It to have a modern UK rock look, but perfect for a teen. Something that has style and resembles a rock star personality. Any suggestions would be awesome. Thanks a bunch.
What color bedding would go well in a lavender bedroom? The trim is white and the carpet is smoke gray. The furniture is all birch. So far I've mostly found bedding that has lavender flowers and things of that nature but I would like something more modern. Also, I keep finding bedding that is completely purple or has shades of it-I can't seem to find any color variation/contrast like is the case with the teal/chocolate sets that are everywhere. I'm thinking of trying a pastel yellow or a green of some sort.
What material is this rug made of? http://www.my-homefurniture.com/etc-sma-zen-20-modern-platform-bedroom-set.php you can blow the photo up by clicking on it... the huge dark rug that's at the foot of the bed... what type of material is that? what type of rug is that? is there a name for that style?
furnishing new bedroom? hi, i am checking bedroom sets at the moment and im torn between 2 types of rooms: 1- the old traditional type of furniture (dark brown) that includes night stand+...all 2- the new modern type of furniture (white) this also includes everything both of them cost about the same, so price is not a problem. i think the type 1 is ok, i looooooooo0o0ove the fact that the bed is so high. but the problem is that an all brown furniture and the fact that its traditional kind of limits my choices of further furnishing my room (i.e. adding my funky pillows is not an option since it wont all go together) as for type 2 i can add more colours and its easier to add things to it but i dont like the bed exactly. so what do you all think, do you have a way of mixing modern and traditional? or do you think just going with the modern is just okay (maybe im can let go of my preference of high bed ;Pp) keep in mind i am 19.. any thoughts or tips about how to furnish my room? thank you all! =D
can someone help with bedroom ideas? well i have a nice wood furniture just about this color http://www.rvhardwoods.com/woodimages/hard%20maple,%20select%20curly.jpg maybe just a little bit darker. but here is my delema , i want to paint my room and buy new bedding(for a full size bed) and i really dont know what colors to do im very confused i might want to go for a country western style but NOT modern just because of the style of the bedroom set. but i dont necessarily need country western but any tips of ideas please comment.:)

The room doesn't get much natural light, so I want to stick with warm, bright colors. My bed and nightstands are a orangey brown color, kind of like this: http://www.furniturestoreblog.com/2009/03/25/juno_solid_wood_modern_bed_in_cherry_or_beech.html I was considering this set: http://www.target.com/Home-Floral-Comforter-Set-Multicolor/dp/B001RF9HUG/ref=br_1_1?ie=UTF8&frombrowse=1&searchView=grid5&searchNodeID=372864011&node=372864011&searchRank=salesrank&searchPage=1&searchSize=30&id=Home%20Floral%20Comforter%20Set%20Multicolor and getting chocolate colored sheets, rugs etc but I'm wondering if it will clash with the brown of the wood? Any suggestions of other colors for bedding? Thanks!

A vanity would be nice too. All the furniture must match/be part of the same set. I really like modern furniture, light wood with metal accents. I love really light wood and dark wood (no medium). I really loved this set, except the desk is a computer desk and doesn't have enough drawers: http://www.justkidsbeds.com/Lea-Industries-iRoom-Bedroom-Series-LK2576.html Links and pics please! Thanks, I really appreciate it(:

Any suggestions/ideas would be great! Thanks

What color should I paint my bedroom walls? I am having such a hard time picking a color for our bedroom and would like some opinions. I am going for a modern romantic look I guess. This is the bedroom set we have: http://www.vcf.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?partNumber=1192353&Nao=6&langId=-1&numberOfResultsPerPage=12&referrer=shelfPage&storeId=10001&catalogId=10153&N=4294966667%200+4294967163&categoryId=4294967293 And we have a bedding set close to this except ours doesn't have white in it. Just black and grey: http://www.bedbathandbeyond.com/product.asp?order_num=-1&SKU=119195&RN=22 I was thinking of a modern bluish grey color but I can't seem to find what I am looking for. Any ideas? My husband picked the bedding so we are kind of stuck with it. I really don't like it and am trying to find a way to make it work. Any ideas would be helpful on how to make the furniture and bedding work. Can't return the bedding because we have been using it :)
Any ideas for bedroom paint ..? Well i haven't decided on what color i should paint my bedroom. And since it's a masterbedroom i just want to make it look as nice as i can also want to go with more of a modern setting. It has a sliding door as a window and most imortantly the floor color is something like brazilian cherry. The ceiling i'll most likely leave white unless i get ideas for it. Room is about 14 by 17 feet. What color should i get my door also.... Any Paint or decorating ideas?? Also the room has a colonial style balcony outside.
How Do I Design A Modern Room? Early next year me and my mom are planing on moving out of our apartment into a single story house. We haven't found a house yet. But I have had the same bedroom set since i was 8 (i'm 13 now) so obviously its a little out grown. So she said i can get my new furniture at IKEA and we can go from there. But since we haven't moved yet i don't have measurements or anything. I also want it to be like a modern teenage room. so if u have any ideas, tips, or links i would greatly appreciate it. thanks a billion! (:

ideas for decorating bedroom? Thinking about decorating my bedroom. I want cream wall paper, but someone said its quite modern to have one wall a differnt color, like maybe a dark brown or mocha brown. would that be nice or would it look weird? i will be getting a new bed and its going to be one of those faux dark brown leather ones with a leather headboard like in a hotel lol. my carpet is cream.i dont have one clear wall, as in one i have a window, the other a main window, the other the door, and the other has a fitted wardrobe on it. so would the feature wall work? Also was thinking could you have a "floating desk"? like a floating shelf but to put my tv, dvd player, digital on will it hold the weight? i just want a modern room! theres so much clutter. i want simplicity. What surface would be good? really i only need one set of drawers. any designers or decoraters that could give me some advice? thanks very much!! x
Help With My New Bedroom? I recently purchased a house country-side, and I'll be taking my old furniture with me. Since I got it when I was younger, it's not really fashion-forward or modern, in fact it's kind of haphazard (nothing matches, and I never got new curtains after I bought a new comforter). In the new house, I want to really make it look classy and modern. The only problem is, I have no aesthetic taste at all. None. So, I need some help! What can I do with my current room's furniture (sans curtains, since they don't match, nor will they fit the new windows) to make it look at least somewhat decent? The only thing I know for sure is that the carpet will be a light brown. I haven't decided if it's tawny or not :P Bed http://i186.photobucket.com/albums/x292/RLastInstallment/IMG_6166a.jpg (I just kind of threw the pillows up there. The headboard is just like the footboard, but right now is covered with a blanket my great-grandmother knitted for me, should I loose it or keep it? It's just knitted white) Other side of the comforter: http://i186.photobucket.com/albums/x292/RLastInstallment/IMG_6167.jpg So, does the comforter even work with the colour of the wood? Or should I invest in a new one? What would look good with it? What about paint colours, and what about the shelves and what's on them? Should I bother to keep any of that in the bedroom or set them up in one of the other rooms? Do any ideas for decor pop into your head? I know it's a lot to ask, especially since you guys can't see it or the new room for yourselves. But thank you for any advice you can give!
What should I paint my room? I am 16 and moving to Boston on Aug 1st. I really want a modern style room. I have the bedroom set picked out that I want. Its a Black-Brown MALM bedroom set from Ikea and I want Red VIKTOR shelves. The only question is, what do I paint my room?

repainting bedroom furniture with carving help!? I have a set of bedroom furniture that I've had since the late 80's. Its an ugly laminate with mirrors and carved out designs on half the drawers. How do I refinish this? I took one of the drawers off and have started experimenting on it. I puttied over the carving and sanded it primed it and spray painted it a dark brown to match my new bed. The problem is you can still see the carving through the paint. I want it to look modern and smooth. I am planning on stenciling over the mirrors and have managed to scrap the last bit of gold off them, but I am at a loss with the carving.
Good place to buy newly used furniture (denver, co)? I am looking for a bedroom set. (Bed frame and dresser w/ mirror) Specifically modern style, cherry sleigh. Not wanting to pay more than $500. If you know any places besides craigslist and ebay please let me know thanks!
How can i make my teen bedroom STYLISH or COOL or SOPHISTICATED or CLASSY etc etc??? Hi. So my Mum has just given me the master bedroom to our house. I know, I'm lucky... In it i have a walk-in-wardrobe and an Ensuite. I'm not sure if the bedroom is classified as small or not, but it's dimensions are 18' x 17'. The walk-in-wardrobe is 11' x 9'. Basically, what i am looking for is design ideas that can help me turn this room into "ME". I want it to reflect my style, but still be uber-cool and super stylish and sophisticated at the same time. I am 17, and i dont plan on moving out until about 25, so permanency is not an issue. Also, the budget is unlimited. I will briefly list some of my interests and style tastes so that you may get a better feel of who "I" am. My Interests •Photography •Reading •Writing •Watching movies •Listening to music •Editing photos •Surfing the internet •Planning •Fashion •Style •Video games My Style/Taste •Eclectic, including: •African •Egyptian •Roman •Oriental •Mexican/Spanish/Aztec •Things that evoke a sense of age and epic-ness e.g. LOTR, 300, 10,000BC •Ancient Civilisations •Modern •Classy •Sophisticated •Retro •Grunge •Expensive •Adventurist (my own word, apparently) Here are some pics of me. I guess showing you who i am might make it easier for you to 'see' who i am. http://www.flickr.com/photos/ethan_9219/sets/72157602346493483/ It would be great if anybody has any ideas that may reflect anything that i mentioned or you think would suit me. I am open to other ideas that you may have that are cool but are different to what i mentioned. I think it would help for you to see the space i will be working with. So here is a picture of my room's layout: http://www.flickr.com/photos/ethan_9219/2802841153/ One thing that i want to have in my room is a giant photograph taking up either a full wall, or most of it. If anybody has any ideas of what would be the perfect iconic image to use in this situation they would be much appreciated. I look forward to hearing everybody's ideas and suggestions. Thanks heaps, Ethan Ricky> You have me sort of worked out, but a few things. First of all, i am not from a well to do family....I am poor. Second, yes a lot of the time i enjoy being by myself...What better place to do that in my nice room? Thirdly, i am perfectly 100% straight....I like girls, not guys. The thing is i am 'man' enough to admit the things i like and i understand they may seem a little 'gay' or feminine...That's because i am perfectly 100% happy being who i am and enjoy doing what i like to do. Lastly, i am not a lonely nerd who would like to fill his room with mini figurines and such of historical battles...OK?

how much would it cost to finish a standard basement ? My basement is already finished, but it was done at least 10 years ago so its in bad shape. i want to fix it up and make it more modern. right now it has a bar one bedroom and a washroom and a seating area. i want to make it a 2 bedroom but i want the whole Design and setting to be different then what it is. basically i think i should tear the whole thing down and rebuild it. so how much would this cost me. im looking to have wood flooring and pot lights.
What exactly constitutes 'feminism,' to you? The word 'feminist' is arguably a counterproductive term to bat around in debate because it means such different things to different people. For a little exercise, please define feminism, and say whether each of the following viewpoints is 'feminist' or not: 1) Gender should be an irrelevant curiosity in modern professional society, in the same way that blood type, eye and hair color, race, and other doubtlessly biological yet socially irrelevant characteristics are. Outside the bedroom, hospital, and romantic world, gender shouldn't matter at all. 2) Men and women are inherently different, but are equal because they possess different but equally valuable attributes. There is a certain proper set of behaviors and characteristics for men and a certain different proper set of behaviors and characteristics for women, but these sets are equally valuable, so men and women should respect each other as different but equal. 3) Men have historically oppressed women, so it is only fair and right than men should suffer some minor level of oppression at society's hands to set the ground back equally. A certain level of scapegoating and institutional discrimination against men in the modern world is tolerable in light of what has happened historically. ...and some less general viewpoints: a) Men are physically superior to women, so women should receive lighter sentences and more lenience in violent crimes than men, and we should be more concerned with protecting women from rape and assault than men. b) Scholarships that discriminate against men, and 'affirmative action' in academia and industry in general, are acceptable for historical reasons. c) The Selective Service, which requires men and not women to register from the draft, should remain in place. d) Women are superior to men in raising children, so this should be taken into consideration in marital custody disputes, and women who rely on men to support them while they raise children should be admired. e) Stay-at-home dads should be admired. f) The oppression of homosexuals and/or homosexuality is a bad thing. g) Rape is not broadly enough defined; if a couple has sex and one partner regrets it and feels pressured, even if there is no violence, threat of violence, or blackmail, the reluctant partner has been 'raped.' h) Only men can rape, and/or only women can be raped.

Teen Bedroom Ideas?? HELP!? I'm 15 and I'm changing up my room. I want a sort of contemporary or modern patterned comforter. Kinda like this: http://www.home-and-bedroom.com/lawrence-green-tea-comforter-set.html Or this: http://www.target.com/DwellStudio-Target-Blossom-Bedding-Collection/dp/B002I0PGB8/ref=br_1_9?ie=UTF8&frombrowse=1&searchView=grid5&searchNodeID=404152011&node=404152011&sr=1-9&searchRank=salesrank&searchPage=1&sessionID=182-8937225-2274841&searchSize=30&qid= I want it to involve white (maybe some black) with color accents. How much will my 2 bed flat be worth before the Olympics? Should I keep it? I am at this point unsure if I should keep my London property as an investment, or sell it at the prices I may or may not get for it NOW, +/-£245 000 Given all the developments going on around this area and all the new shopping complexes that were recently completed, I as a novice in the property market, am not sure if it will be worth a lot more than now, around the time of the Olympics. This place is situated North of the river, in E16 about 15 mins from Stratford, but not IN Stratford... DOES that matter? 1 of 6 flats in a purpose build block, this two-bedroom first floor apartment is Well-presented throughout and set within a small secure gated scheme. An impressive property, conveniently close to King George V DLR station and other links which offers easy access to Canary Wharf and to the City. It has an impressive reception room, Modern Kitchen and Finishings, including mirrored sliding doors for the main bedroom wardrobes & a bathroom with separate shower cubicle.

Bedroom Decorating Help? Ok, I'm going to be redoing my room. I'm doing a Paris\ Eiffel Tour themed. I found this awesome comforter set(http://www.target.com/Floral-Damask-Bedding-Collection-Black/dp/B0017ZJLQG/ref=pd_ecc_rvi_1/601-7040246-1310567), but the comforter(my favorite part) is unavailable! So I was thinking of using this comforter(http://www.target.com/Modern-Home-Pintuck-Comforter-Set/dp/B000WY2DX6/ref=cm_reviews_dp_seemore/601-7040246-1310567?ie=UTF8&coliid=&frombrowse=1&alt%5Fview=custReviews&asin=B000WY2DX6#R2KGXRQHBNFO1V) with the tapestry and everything else. I would buy several tapestries and make curtains and pillows out of them. But I'm not sure about if I want to do this... So I was wondering if anyone knew of any comfoters or anything that would go with a Paris\Eiffel Tour theme??? Any links please??? Anything. I would really appreciate it! Thanks!!!

We're only 22 years old, and love modern furniture, so I don't want any granny furniture! lol, just wondering what other people's opinions are. http://www.bricklewood.com/Prepac-BBD-5600-Set-PRP1194.html
I'm allergic to modern living....honest!i get rashes!!! help!!!!? For most people talking on a mobile phone, cooking dinner in the microwave or driving in a car is simply part of modern living in 21st century Britain. But completing any such tasks is impossible for Debbie Bird - because she is allergic to modern technology. Scroll down for more... Debbie and her husband Tony often sleep in a silver-plated mosquito net The 39-year-old is so sensitive to the electromagnetic field (emf) or 'smog' created by computers, mobile phones, microwave ovens and even some cars, that she develops a painful skin rash and her eyelids swell to three times their size if she goes near them. Debbie Bird's eyelids swell to three times their size when she is exposed to microwaves As a consequence, Mrs Bird, a health spa manager, has transformed her home into an EMF-free zone to try and stay healthy. The walls are all covered in special carbon paint, the windows have a protective film on them and she and her husband, Tony, 45, even sleep under a silver-plated mosquito net to deflect the radiowaves. 'I can no longer do things that I used to take for granted,' Mrs Bird said last night. 'My day-to-day life has been seriously affected by EMF. 'I don't own a microwave. I don't use mobile phones at all. I can't even use a cordless phone. We have a plasma screen TV because the old style one gave out gamma rays, which brought on my reaction. 'I can't even get in my friend's BMW. If I do I immediately start getting a headache and my head starts tingling. 'Even shopping is a problem. I can't go in places like Starbucks where there is Wi-Fi broadband and always have to be aware of my environment.' Mrs Bird first realised that she was electro-sensitive when she moved with her husband, a writer and environmental consultant, and their eight-year-old daughter, Antonia, to a new apartment in Bowden, near Altrincham, Greater Manchester. Unbeknown to her, however, her neighbours were all using wireless internet connections and had cordless phones. 'At first I couldn't sleep,' Mrs Bird added. 'Then I started developing a skin reaction. I had a burning sensation down my face, on my forehead and elbows. I looked like I had been severely burnt on my forehead. 'I felt very tired all the time and my eye-lids would swell up to three times their size.' Scroll down for more... Debbie's home is a radio-wave free zone. A clear protective film has been put on the windows and the walls have been redecorated with a special carbon paint Mrs Bird was referred to a skin specialist, but the problem was so severe the couple decided they had no option but to move to a new home, in nearby Hale, Greater Manchester. They took electromagnetic readings of the property and set about making it safe. The house was completely re-wired, had clear protective film put on the windows and every wall was painted with black carbon paint, which cost £250 per tin, to deflect the harmful rays. All the couple's bedroom curtains are also silver-plated and they sleep under a silver-plated mosquito net, which also protects against radiation. Although the renovation was not cheap, Mrs Bird said it was worth it. Her skin rashes have gone and she no longer has trouble sleeping. Officially in the UK, electro-sensitivity (ES) does not exist as a medical condition. Doctors say there is little scientific evidence to back up a link between EMF and poor health. They claim the symptoms, often attributed to flu or viruses, are psychosomatic. But campaigners disagree. They reckon around 500 people are already being treated for ES and as many as five per cent of the population could be affected. Rod Read, director of Electro-Sensitivity UK, said: 'I have seen hundreds of people who exhibit symptoms they directly attribute to the electrical items around them. 'But it is a politically incorrect illness, the Government or electronic companies don't want people thinking their mobile phones or microwaves are dangerous. 'In the past doctors have dismissed symptoms as something like flu, but the pathology is now established. It has a huge detrimental physical effect and stops people living normal lives.' Do you have any ideas on what themes my bedroom can be about? Hi, I want to redecorate and paint and basically, re-do my WHOLE bedroom. I'm 13 years old and I want a theme bedroom. It has to be something that I would still be in love with when I'm 16 or 17, the point is when I'm much older. Anyways, I've established that I want a theme bedroom, what I can't decide on is what theme. I really need some theme ideas, please be detailed with your answer. I'm a girlie girl, so that might help. I was considering a Paris theme because I've heard about it. Can you please include links and more ideas. Stuff like Paris, but not countries or anything, like things or people or like a "modern-chic pad". This is my style, here's the link: http://www.polyvore.com/this_is_me/set?id=9985123 Btw, I made this myself! :D thanks and please please please please answer!!! 10 POINTS For best answer. What retro music theme should the theme be about?? Please be detailed!
Your views on the modern teen? A comedienne once described teenagers as "inconsiderate eating machines". I have some nearly bizarre experiences. I'm a Chicagoan living in Prague. Because I have a big, comfortable apartment right in the heart of the city, people like staying here. Sometimes a nephew, cousin, or son of a friend in the Czech Republic or Slovakia will ask to stay here. Hence comes my question about teenagers. Last summer, the young cousin of a friend asked if he could stay here. About an hour later another person asked. Both people showed up not alone, but with a friend. (no language barrier here; they simply omitted that fact). Since I have just two bedrooms, I slept in the living room because each bedroom has a king size bed (for two people). I was shocked at how inconsiderate some guests are. They never clean up after themselves, never wash a dish, never take out the garbage after they've filled up the garbage can. They will throw their wet bath towels over a leather chair. While I tell everyone to just "make yourself at home", they eat so much I have to go to the store twice a day just to keep refreshments in the refrigerator. Now, your first reaction is probably to say I encourage such behavior by not setting any ground rules, but why should I have to play the part of the fussy, stern guy? I want people to relax here and enjoy, not feel like they are under the ireful, watchful eye of some Martha Stewart character who will yell at them for any tiny problem. What I don't understand is, when I was a teen, if I stayed in someone's home I was meticulous about cleaning up after myself, and tried to offer my help around the house. I didn't want to be a bother or disturb my host. Nowadays it seems like kids don't have any concept of etiquette or good behavior. So what is your opinion of the modern teen? Why do they seem to be so clueless about the most basic tenets of good behavior?

Ashlee Simpson's Bed From TV Show???? Looking For Certain Style...? Ok, I know this is a weird question, but my wife and I were watching the Ashlee Simpson show on MTV a few years ago and she had just moved into this new place. She had an unreal bedroom set that I cannot find anywhere on the web or stores. It was real simple, modern, chocolate, had 4 posts, really thick, but not too tall (the posts), no canopy. I love it and want to buy one, but can't find it anywhere, any ideas? I'd give you 10000 points if you could help me find it! Thanks for any input.

Where would your dream house be located? What would it look like and what would be in it? I would have a tropical island theme in my living room. A modern country theme in my kitchen and a victorian style theme in my bedroom. Since I have a son his theme would be a all sports theme. If I had a girl her theme would probably be like a all pink/white princess style theme. In the living room I would have palm tree plants. A tropical wall decoration would be nice too. In the kitchen I would have a wooden circle table or the traditional table. My decorations would be apples and other fruits. With black and silver appliances. In my bedroom I would have a canopy bed with sheer curtains matching the bedspread. My bedroom set would probably be wooden with a white wicker table and victorian mirrors. I would have lots of rose decorations. My house would be located in Potomac, Maryland. A all white house with a picket white fence and a two door car garage. I would have a wooden white bench on my porch. I would have floors on the outside of the window ledges. My dream house would be surrounded with green grass and an attic in the house.
Do houses sell fully furnished? Do they sell for more? ? If it doesn’t interest any buyers to sell furnished, can you include an “option to buy” offer for all furniture? (I really don’t care to make money off the furniture, but if it can help sell the house, it beats craigs-listing it all!) I don’t really care for most the stuff in my house- even though it’s very nice. All the furniture was purchased/brought in specifically for the house which I’ve only been at a few years, and they all go very well with the look of the house. They are very modern. I’m moving hundreds of miles, and downsizing from 1500 square feet into a 500 square foot apartment for a while and I’d prefer not to pay for moving and storage. Therefore I’m either going to try to sell it all on Craigs list and donate the rest, or sell the house furnished. In selling it furnished, I’d gladly include a full bedroom set, desks/chairs for the other two bedrooms (which my wife and I use as offices), Tables/chairs/couches in livingroom (which are all very modern and in great condition- they really go w/the house nicely), Kitchen table and chairs, Washer, Dryer, Fridge, all other major kitchen appliances, hot tub, a few other furniture items, and even a 90” projection screen TV system in the basement (I can always sell that on ebay though). Is this appealing to buyers? How do I list it with buyers to make it appealing?
What is the best way to bring color into a room? Any suggestions? I want to bring some bright colors into my bedroom. I rent, so painting is out. The walls are an ivory color and my bedroom furniture is a dark wood color. My bedrooms set is really bland, and I'm thinking i should buy a new comforter and sheets to wake up the room. I don't want it to be too girly or so bright that it is overpowering/outlandish, and I would like it to be modern -- not childish. I'm new to decorating and in my 20's.. Any suggestions for colors, design, and how to do this without spending a fortune would be greatly appreciated!
Keep (good real) furniture that's not my style or my-style furniture that's cheap? My mom is offering to give me a bedroom set that she has. It's well made; solid wood but it's a more classic style whereas I like modern. I have my own furniture that's my own style that I love, but it's cheap (Ikea, metal and particle board, etc.). I don't have room for both or to store these. Which should I keep and why? Would it be possible for me to get a modern look in a room while still using more classic pieces?
i need color ideas for my room? my bedroom set is a light beige with marble on it. and my room is plain. i want color ideas so that i can start decorating my room i do live with my husband so it cant be too girly!! and we are in our early 20's so somethign modern would be great!!! if you can also give me some pics of how i can decorate my room with those colrs it would be more then wonderfull. so im looking for 2-3 different colors i can use at once, i have chosen a few id like to try out which are: chocolate brown and light blue or burgandy with tan/gold any other colors you recomend?
An almost Romeo and Juliet story of modern day 15 year olds...? I need responses that are serious and mature. There are these two families. At one time they all got along because the kids in both families hung out a lot and did things together. The mothers of each family spoke occasionally about the kids. All in friendship. After about a year, one family moved a little further from each other and the kids from the other family helped them move into their new home. All is well. Shortly thereafter, one of the boys got a ride to the family that moved out of the neighborhood, by some boys that that family didn't like. Well, this boy did not know that the family had a problem with these boys when all he wanted was a ride. Now, he just went over to their house to get one of his video games and go back home. But it didn't happen like that. He went in and one of the other boys went in behind him, went up the stairs to the lady's son's bedroom took some valuables, and they began to fight. The fight was so intense that it ended in the living room downstairs. The mother even got into it with her son. The boy that needed the video game was in shock as he stood there watching while the one boy got away and left him there. The mother was very angry and yelled and told this boy, whom they had been friends with for over a year to get out of her house and yelled out racial comments to him as he left. Soon after he left she called the police on the boy that had helped them and had been friends with and told the police that he had set them up. Now, this boy never got into trouble until this day. The woman was so very angry that she disowned the other family as friends, everyone in that family, which was heartbreaking. To this day she expresses how she hates that family, especially the son. There is another story with this. A15 year old girl and a 15 year boy from each family had been dating of and on since they were 14 and more steadily since the incident. They love each other. The boy cried to his mother that he couldn't do it anymore (sneak around to see her). He had to tell the girl this and she was devastated. They all cried, even the mother, and told her that they still loved her and that everything would be alright. The most impotant thing was that he loved her so much and was very proud to be with her but the sneaking around was wrong because her family din't approve. So to honor what her mother said that to leave that family alone or she would be severly punished. The mother even felt like it was wrong to allow it to take place knowing her mom didn't like it. Do you think that he did the right thing by breaking it off with her? Sorry I was not able to give names, that is why I said only mature responses. And the reason they can't see each other again is because her mother won't allow it, she is just 15 and has all the say so for her own child. The other family, who loves her almost as much as the boy loves her, all decided it was best, to honor her mother's decision. Additional input is what I'm looking for....
Help me find a good bed that suits my "expectations"? I'm looking for a good bed to buy for my room, because I'm going to renovate over the summer. I'm looking for a full size bed, that's black (or has a really dark finish) , that has storage (or room for storage boxes underneath), and has a sleek, modern, contemporary look. It would be awesome if it had a headboard of some sort. (Sorry for being picky... XD ) My mom said it'd be good if it was solid wood, but what are the pros and cons of using solid wood? What about engineered woods? (Other than price) We live in a humid town. Sorry for all the vague questions... XD Here are some beds I kinda like: http://www.humbleabode.com/Sonoma-Platformbed-Headboard-Prepac https://furniturefromhome.com/products/Quality-Bedroom-furniture-set-sets-beds-queen-king-full-twin/bedroom-furniture-coa400180T http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/10074929
This is my first time doing window treatments. What to do? My living room is painted orange and I have a white modern living room set with a few scroll designed traditional pieces. The space is not very large so I would like something that would keep the airy feel it has. My bedroom also needs window treatments and the walls are painted a green/mustard yellow color. I also have the same white modern love seat in my bedroom as a chaise. This room is also not very large. I have finally settled on the layout, but definitely need help with the window treatments since it is my first time. I welcome your suggestions. Please also be sure to include the texture and color(s). I would also like to keep the cost to a minimal and finish this project within the next couple of days. Thanks!! http://picasaweb.google.com/tkirkwood333/MyPictures?authkey=TYo1nPrLIeU#
Help choosing curtains!? I just bought a new comforter set for my bedroom, and I need to buy some new drapes. The comforter set is chocolate, baby blue, and sand. It is micro-suede. I have no idea what fabric to get, what color(s) to get, what style to go for, if I should buy pre-made or buy the fabric and make them, etc, etc! I want an elegant, modern look. I was thinking about going with silk (or faux silk). My walls are fairly light neutral colored, so I don't want the curtains to be too light. At first I wanted to get them in chocolate, now I'm leaning more towards the blue! It's so confusing! :( lol

I need help decorating my new Teen room (P.S. i am a male)??? Any tips?? Thanks heaps, Ethan

I am not judgemental as you say, it is you that judges me. I am only one person who wishes to do my best to help. blowing up the building will leave people homeless also smity. excellent advice.i will use to help i do agree with mcdannel and his opinions on asylums. I entered my profession to change situations in the future to the best of my abilities.
cute vintage/nature-like comforter??? I've been having some trouble finding a bright yellow comforter close to Vera Wang's poppy set, and have finally resorted to looking around some alternatives. My bedroom's theme is that sort of vintage-but-modern style with the different colored birds, fat owls, and trees painted on part of my walls... The main color of my walls is a light aqua, and most of the designs are yellow with some red accents. Since I can't find a yellow comforter, I started looking for white, aqua, or brown ones with the same vintage flair (like maybe a graphic desgn of birds or a tree), but I'm still having trouble and if anyone knows of some good places or websites I'd be very grateful! (I need either a comforter or duvet cover. Bedspreads are too light... Minnesota's not that warm, you know!) While I'm away at college, my room's a guest room that does get used quite a bit, so it is important that the comforter doesn't remain a mismatched pink! Bright yellow is still my first choice, though.... the reason I can't get the Vera Wang set is because my bed's a twin, and that narrows it down a lot. ) =

Am i getting into a reasonable lease rent for taipei? I am going to NTU next summer....the lease is approximately 12100 NT with the utilities included. It is a block from school and very close to the MRT. Is this reasonable? It's set up as a very small 1 person studio (bedroom is same room as fridge tv closet) and then a personal bathroom....cramped, but MODERN so thats a plus. Everythings very clean & new....main thing is that its so close to the school. by the way its 12100 per month, not the entire stay :)
How can I arrange my furniture in my room? I'm moving into a bigger bedroom and want to arrange my furniture in a more modern layout but still make the room look big and spacious. I'm tired of everything going against a wall, and having the perimeter of my room cramped with stuff surrounded by an open space in the middle. I have one dresser, a night stand, twin bed, computer and desk and a smaller cabinet with study related items in it, as well as a tv set. I am not sure if I should combine everything or as some magazines portray, section my room off with one area dedicated to lounge and study and then a sleeping area. I am thinking something similar to pottery barn teen rooms or ikea model rooms, I am just not sure how to go bout it

How do I update my furniture to fit a new style? I'm renovating and redecorating my house. I'm going for an antique French sort of look... Think the movie Marie Antoinette, but not quite as extreme. Lots of white, cream, black and pastel. It's currently a haphazard collection of old passed down furniture (clunky, big, heavy and wooden stuff), simple streamlined modern pieces (mainly presents) and a few pieces of my own choosing such as delicate glass vases and a beautiful upholstered lounge set. I have the budget to repaint, polish floorboards and buy new rugs and curtains so that's all fine. I can also buy new accessories such as artwork and new light fittings. But I can't really replace every piece of furniture in my big 4 bedroom house. How can I make my existing furniture fit in with the new look? Here are some ideas I've already had: Cutting off the boring/modern/table legs and replacing with more delicate legs Repainting wooden furniture in white or stain the wood black Cover furniture that can't be saved (such as my bright red futon couch!) with textured cream/toille fabrics with fringing. Any other ideas? Thanks so much in advance!

What bedding colors would match with deep plum walls? I've recently painted my medium sized bedroom a deep plum. I think it looks amazing, but I'm having a hard time figuring out which color bedding would go best. I already have a pale and dark purple bed set on my full sized bed, but I don't want to overwhelm the room in purple. And' I've also just purchased a queen sized mattress so Its time to switch it up. Since my room isn't huge I was figuring that I already have enough dark colors in my room and that light colored bedding would probably work best. The only thing I can think of is silver or gray. I'd probably say my style is modern and contemporary than old fashioned and floral. Any suggestions or links would be very helpful. Thanks in advance! here is the closest picture i could find on the net of a wall whose color resembled my own. http://kzgrbs.files.wordpress.com/2007/08/purple-wall-1.jpg
