Very big bedroom decorating/moving in tips? I am a high school sophomore and I have a sister who will be graduating and moving out this year. In my house there is a very big room (14' 7.5" X 39' 3") acroos the stairway from my room.It also has a small "notch" off of it that measures 4'4" X 7' 5".My parents have agreed to let me move into it when my sister leaves. How should I decorate such a large space? It also only has one window so what are some good ways to keep it looking bright. I was planning on painting it a pale yellow. The floors are linoleum (sp?). Need Bedroom decorating tips? My bedroom is 19.5 x 16.5. It faces NE with two windows overlooking the street and the park. I get some light in the AM, but after that it's kinda dark and on the cool side - especially in the winter of course. I have hardwood floors and a pewter toned metal king sized bed. I'm thinking of going with light colors because it is so dark, but I can't find any inspiration. I'm not the neatest person and I read a lot in bed so there are always books and mags around. We have dark furniture and are getting a light wood flooring put it soon instead of our carpet. Also what type of door should we use for our closet. I have a large, very heavy TV, that we're going to attempt to put on milk crates, so that I don't have to sit on the floor to watch TV. I also have an electric keyboard, and three guitars. I also have a saxophone that I have at school, but I have to bring it home for a concert I will be playing in next week. There's a hamper, and a fan on my floor, but the fan is lifted each night onto a chair so I can have it on when I sleep. My bed is too high for a fan to be sitting on the floor, and I get anything from it. On my dresser, I have a mirror, and on that mirror, there's pictures, a movie ticket, certificates, and a poem. There's also perfume, jewelry, my Edward and Bella dolls, my nail stuff, my makeup, my hair stuff, my deodorant, lotion, some pictures in frames, a mini mirror, two Cullen crests, and a lamp. On top of my TV are my remotes, a cable box, a DVD player, and a VCR, and a picture of my boyfriend. My old bedside table is behind my door with my trash can under it. On my headboard, there are two compartments for things, and in one, I have some journals for multiple projects I want to start, a book light, my old glasses, (long story about the glasses. To cut it short, I can't read with my new glasses on, and I have to read with my old glasses on.) and my flip video camera. In the other compartment, I have a math stencil I found on the bus, and am returning to the teacher on Monday, a book light, my DVDs, and my music case. In between them, I have my library books, and my glasses case. On top of my headboard, I have my alarm clock. Covering my walls are Twilight posters, a calender for the countdown to Eclipse, a regular puppy calender, a picture of my father, a 3D picture of a ship, and a stitching thing my grandmother made the day I was born. There's also a few sweaters hanging on nails, and two cork boards. In the top right corner of my room, my fan, my old school backpack, and two guitars are there. On my desk, there's a lamp, a pencil sharpener, a lava lamp, and a basket of junk. In a container that's connected to my desk, I have my board games, and my writing binder. Under the table where my keyboard rests are my shoes, they're in a small container, then my art stuff in a pink container. On my bookcase are my books, of course, some magazines that I hope to make into a collage for my room, my yearbooks from fifth and seventh grade, some music books, a Twilight bucket holding some stuff, a broken basket with another smaller basket inside holding twine and beads, it's on top of a wood shop project I made last year, which was a box, and it's empty. Those things are on top of a box, which holds tons of things. next to that is my science project I have to bring to school Monday. On my hanging shelves that my grandfather made, there are figurines, a small set of drawers holding a few things, such as my sewing equipment. Then my memory box, and some things from my dad. I also have my snow globe collection on it too. On my other shelf, there's a Wicca shrine. On a little table next to my dresser is a small table with a little purple lined basket. That's empty. I can't paint, wallpaper, or buy new furniture, but I'd like some tips on how to make my room seem bigger. The first thing I see when I walk in is my bed. That's annoying. Bedroom Decorating Help/Tips...? I just recently bought a desk that attaches to the wall and folds up for my bedroom. tips for decorating my bedroom...? I want to decorate my room this weekend in a bohemian style, i have a dark brown carpet (which is quite new) and i want to paint my room in a colour that goes with the carpet. i have taken inspiration from these two gorgeous candlesticks (red with jewels and beads) and two large wooden candlesticks (the candle is white and red with a buddah on it) and want to decorate my room around this theme, does anybody have any tips or advice on how to go about this. my furnature is quite a light colour, but i suppose i could always stain it or paint it. Decorating tips for bedroom? I really want to jazz up my room a little. At the moment I have a bed, bedside table, dresser with mirror, bookcase and desk and chair all in brown wood. My walls are off-white and the carpet a flecky greeny colour. I do have a few awesome things in my room, and a bit of a theme. My duvet/pillow are lime green, purple and white (Roomur soda) and I have the matching Roomur cushions (lime green, purple and white) and a Roomur purple rug. I have a purple mink blanket on my bed, a lime green bean bag and a few other things of the same colour like boxes/containers, a toy bucket etc. I have also painted these wooden letters which spell out my name in purple and lime green and made these 2 boards with ribbons on them (which I want to put photos on). I want my room to be more colour themed and would LOVE new furniture though I don't think that's an option. I also don't think I could paint mine as it's good quality, but would like to do it up a bit. My ideas were: - I have a piece of purple fabric and a piece of purple sequinned netting. Is there some way I could make a purple sequin headboard for my bed? - I was thinking of doing something to one of my walls- maybe painting it lime green and hanging up lanterns, painting it dark purple and hanging up fairylights, covering it in photos in frames, making a "memory wall" of photos, tickets, pictures etc., painting it with magnet paint, covering it with buttons etc. What are some cool ideas?

Any decorating tips for a tiny bedroom? I've got baby #2 on the way and am needing to move my son out of the nursery and into our odd ball home office room. The problem is, in our tiny house, the spare bedroom is 9' by 11' and to make it even harder to arrange the necessary furniture, there's a double window and three doors in it - one entering from the hall way on one of the long walls, and the micro-closet and for some weird reason, a door that comes out by the back door on the other long wall. The window takes up most of one short wall, and the other is going to be mostly taken up by the door-swings of the closet and hallway door. Furniture-wise, I plan on getting him a tall captains/platform bed that can double as his dresser. And, my dad had the neat idea of hanging two narrow cabinets on the wall far enough apart for a chair and putting a desktop on them. But, how can I decorate this room to NOT feel like the walls are closing in, and help get him excited about moving in to what even a 3-year old is going to see as a downgrade? (Besides the new baby, he's getting to the age he doesn't need to hear what Mom and Dad do on their side of the house at night) Any tips on window treatments or painting and lighting tricks? How about toy storage? The closet is more like a coat closet. Right now the floors are very old and worn pine slats and the walls and ceiling are white.

Any tips for decorating my bedroom? i'm wanting to decorate my bedroom, at the moment its all white with red & black voile blinds, i quite like the London theme and so far i have a pink,black & grey picture of the Union Jack i also have a red, white & blue union Jack cushion my bedroom is fairly small in the sense that i have a double bed in there and that it as the bed takes up the majority of the space, i dont know whether i should paint the walls - i don't wanna go overboard. I decorating a bedroom and want to expose the floorboards, however....? There is a gap between the bottom of the skirting board and the floorboards, where the carpet went. How do i conceal this. Would i have to lower the skirting boards, or is there a filler you could recommend. what to do with my bedroom (16yo, decorating wise)? my parents are renovating the house, the first thing they did was renovate their bedroom (paint and all) and add an ensuite to their bedroom. next was the kitchen, then they added an extension to the family room. all the while little ol me is downstairs in a excrement hole. i have ripped and torn carpet from the 70's. filthy 20yo curtains, my room was made smaller for them to change the staircase (doesnt worry me) so i have exposed drywall, hasnt even been patched and sanded. my other walls are just filthy blonde bricks.
