Is my design idea for my bedroom good and how can I make it better? I just moved into a new apartment. I'm having furniture delivered from Ikea that is black/brown, all with squared edges and simple lines. (Malm, Mikael, & Expedit) Walls are currently (and will probably stay) white. I want my design to be simple Japanese/Asian meets colorful beach house. Bedding, wall decorations, and accessories are to be colorful (think the color wheel from elementary school). By keeping the the colors to bedding and accessories, I want to be able to alternate it with a more zen-like/earth tone style whenever the mood hits me. Would this design work? What colors should I concentrate on or avoid? Is there other advice you might have to make this space amazing?
Design for wallpapering bedroom? I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for wallpaper for walls and ceiling for a bedroom. I'm trying to make it my bedroom a bedroom/small office. I wanted to go with an asian type of decor. So if anyone had any ideas where would be a good place to shop for that type or walpaper or if you have your own design ideas that'd be great. Thanks for you help.

Designing guest bedroom ideas? I just a bed and two end tables for a guest bedroom. I wanted to go for a minimalistic Asian theme. You know, nice colors and comfortable. Problem is that I have that generic contractor beige carpet in there. I don't have the time to remove it so I will let it stay (for now). Does anyone have a good website that they know of where I could see design styles, or have any great ideas?
Where do asian girls buy all their cute stuff? Like school supplies, bedroom interior design, and other stuff (Day to day living and such). All their stuff is super cute and I'm really curious as to where they shop. :) Links to stores would be best. :)

Teen Bedroom Ideas? Moving in soon....? Hey! i am moving in really soon to my new house and i get to design it. Im going to be painting my walls in 2 shades of blue and i already picked my furniture. I also have blankets pillowcases etc (mostly blue; obviously my favorite color) but i was just wondering what little things i could add to my room to really make it special. the furniture im getting is: http://www.daniafurniture.com/home_bedroom_adult/item/1297 (but in "natural cherry" instead of the darker wood. i want the room to have a sort of "asian" feel to it :D
Covering large built-in shelving with fabric? My bedroom is a converted office, with two huge floor to ceiling shelving units (built in). I want to use the shelves for clothing storage(as there is no closet), but I want to cover them with fabric. I have a light green, asian inspired comforter, and light green/dark brown curtains(almost a "crushed" look). Any color and design ideas? It will cover 2/3rds of the second largest wall, with a 3 foot wall in the middle.
Is it okay to have a bedroom without a "theme"? Ok, so my bedroom is... mismatched. I have a black bedspread with white swirly designs on it, I have pink and black pillows (the sham pillows are the same as the bedspread, it all came together), my walls are so pale blue that they're almost white (we're going to paint my room mint green), I have random stuff I drew, painted, wrote, made, or cut out of a magazine on my walls, I have origami hanging from my ceiling, I have few asian accents in my room (lucky bamboo plant, earring holder, my name in Japanese), my bedroom suit (headboard, footboard, dresser, and desk) is brown and made of wood, and I have a black shelf. Does my room sound lame or is it okay to have a mismatched, non-theme room? I'm kind of unsure....

Can anyone give me some good titles for this story? Xian and Kimi Wong just moved from Western Africa after 12 years.Their father Ling, thought it would be a good idea to show them their Asian side, and to move where the heat would be more bearable and it would give them a chance to explore Asia. Kimi Wong, the baby, loved Africa because of the heat, since she was always cold.Xian ,the oldest, on the other hand was happy to be moving away from the wildlife and killing of animals and people. Their Mother Midoka, was happy to move there after having Xian, but wanted to see where her husband came from. Since she was African American she wanted to know her origins and as much as Ling loved her, he came along too. Ling was 15 when he left home to go to America where he met Midoka, and they got married, in North Carolina. Ling came from a little village town outside The Old Woodland Forest, near Toshi-shingai village. The village was Fingonju-lunkai it was so small if you blinked you would miss it and only see the forest for miles then Toshi-Shingai. The Fingonju-lunkai was probably gone now, but they could see the Toshi-Shingai houses, which they rebuilt to fit the modern life of the world. " This is our house?" Kimi asked. "Yes sweetie, it actually nice." Midoka said. "Yea, reminds me of my house in Fingonju-lunkai.It was only without a garage and glass windows." Ling said. Midoka kissed him and said, "it's wonderful Ling, how may bed and baths does it have?" "four beds, five baths, one in each room then one in the downstairs hallway one the left. I looked through the house yesterday." He replied. Ling Wong- Midoka Wong- ( the one with the pigtail braids) Midoka walked up to the house and opened the door. "Oh my gosh it's huge!" She exclaimed. After they moved the furniture in the house, mostly Ling did the work.Midoka has an odd taste in design. "Umm...Midoka did you really have to use those colors?" Ling asked. "Of course I had to, our new house needs to sparkle with my wonderful taste of design." "Wonderful? More like The wacky House at a carnival." Xian whispered to Kimi. Kimi giggles at the comment. "Yea, but I like it. It's original from anything I've seen." "That's because you love wild and loud colors like mom." "Whatever you just don't have any taste. Right mom?" "Yes baby, you got your taste from me and Xian got her taste from your father." The girls went upstairs to their bedrooms. Xian's was blue. Kimi's was a mixture of brown and green and blue, quit like her. When they got all the rooms decorated and furnished they decided to move the rest of the boxes up to the attic. Kimi, being the lazy sister, felt like she really didn't do as much work as the others, wanted to take a few boxes up. "Xian." Kimi called, "Open the door to the attic for me. I need to hurry up and get out because of my asthma i don't know how dusty it is up here." "Fine fine, I'm coming, Kimi." Xian slowly felt around for a open slide or window of some sort to lead them to the attic. Then she found it, the attic door was basically another room at the end of the house. Xian pulled the door open and Kimi stepped in, it was quite like any other attic, a bit dusty but surprisingly clean.Square corners because of the houses' roof format. Kimi set the boxes down at the left side of the attic,it was warm in the attic, which Kimi liked. When Kimi thought of attics she thought they were scary and cold, soulless, but this one was different. It was like a friend was here with her, a very nice friend. Kimi turned around to leave but she felt as though she didn't want to, she didn't know what the feeling was but she knew that if she left, something might happen. "hey Kimi, you coming back down or what?" Xian called. 'Huh? Oh yea, I'm coming." Kimi replied as she slowly left the attic and down the hallway, she wanted to get far away from the feeling as possible. "You okay Kimi?" "Yea girl, why would you think I'm not?" "Cuz you seem a bit off since you've went inside the attic. You didn't see any ghost did you?" Xian joked. "No there's no such thing as ghost, you're being silly." Kimi said as she wentt into the kitchen to drink some green tea. "Ling you can make one of the rooms into a man-cave and I'll make one of the rooms into an electronic room for the family." Midoka said smiling. "Thank you, Mi-Mi." Lin said smiling and kissed Midoka on the cheek. "Not in front of the children now you two." Xian said making kissing faces.
Can someone give me tips on designing my bedroom? I just switched bedrooms and I need some design ideas. I really want it to look Indian or Asian. Right now it is way to white, I know I need to bring in some warm tones and bright fabrics, does anyone have ideas on where to get good stuff for it?
