I need help designing my bedroom....?
I'm 15. My color scheme is tropical blue and green. I going for that beachy tropical vibe. I bought some plastic covered beach scene prints that the room must match. (The kind you buy @ a art store.) I want my room to be simple yet stylish. I need some ideas for: (1) coordinating accent pieces (2) wall color/design (something simple that won't overpower my small room) (3) carpet color also curtains...

- PB Teen always has some great stuff...maybe get a headboard for your bed that is in the shape of a surfboard
- I don't have any particular pieces to suggest, but I do have a warning. You will be surprised how much your personal preferences are going to change by the age of 18 or 19. Just be careful not to go overboard with the tropical theme. You're probably already aware of that. Just don't install a sky blue carpet or lime green wallpaper. Good luck! Be ready to change it all within a few years!
- This probably sounds really crazy, but I heard one of my friends talking about it... Paint ALL your walls blue then use a sponge to paint on some green (or vise versa) giving it a "splat" effect. You could also use a paintbrush and LITERALLY splat it. I think a light beige would make a great color for carpet if you're going with the beach theme.
- Start with a nutural color. A tan like the sand. Keep the carpet int he same tone. Bring in the tropics by using your art work and other accessories ( such as bedding and pillows and such). Maybe add a mural. There are sites where you can get a paint by number mural and do it yourself or you can order wallpaper mural and just have that one wall as a focal point. The best thing to do is to remember to have fun with it.
- tan carpet. for the sand kinda theme.
- for the painting, if you have white walls already its a start, if not go to sherwin williams and buy some white primer, enough to cover every wall, once its dry get some painters tape and make big rectangles with the tape, dont fill them in with tape just simple rectangles, space them about 4-8 inches apart on the sides and the top, then paint over everything with green or blue, i personaly think blue would look better, once its dry peel off the tape, you have white rectangles, simple and stylish, then buy some trim to go on the bottom of your walls and the top and paint them white, try to get them pre white, tack them up and that adds even more style, for the carpet i would go with a fairly fluffy gray carpet, i dont really know much about accents but thats gonna look nice if you do it the way i said
- well,if you want a beachy/tropical island room you should have a tropical island wallpaper in your bedroom, you should also buy some tropical island plants, and definetly tropical bed sheets and for the carpet color you shoud buy a carpet that has a picture of beaches, island, or a tropical place.........
- wow you get to pick out your own carpet at 15! if i had to sugggest carpet color i would say beige or sand colored. for wall color i would suggest turqoiuse! and a two inch thick horizonal stripe of orange and bright blue right in the middle i would suggest white accesories, any more blue or green would look tacky. try a tall wicker basket bamboo framed mirror paper lamps twinkle lights along celing white bedsheets and white pillows with one small orange pillow to match the sunsets in your pictures maybe hang an old map of the tropical islands up over your bed make a capopy/curtains for your beds by buying sheer blue fabric and tacking them up with tacks or nails. a bamboo cutain or wooden blinds a blue butterfly chair or wooden chair and of course a tall tropical plant
