What is a good color to paint the guest bedroom?

I have no idea. Right now it's really dark navy blue, and it's already a smaller room.....so this just makes it seem even more small! I need some advice.....I know lighter will make it seem more open, right? What color?!?! I want something different. Any suggestions?

  1. my bedroom is peach and it is awesome
  2. purple/violet
  3. Black - encourage them to stay away :)
  4. How about a basic off-white paint. Nothing looks better than white in a house.
  5. like a sunshine yellow it will make the room look bigger and it a happy color
  6. Maybe light yellow or green. Maybe even a light blue. Light pastel colors.
  7. skyblue. very nice.
  8. Peach or Yellow
  9. I think red because it is a grand colour
  10. i like a darker beige.. it is so gorgeous and simple. my room is painted that
  11. if you did it like a sage green it would lighten it up but still keep it a nice color.
  12. a light yellow maybe.......
  13. a neutral color, maybe cream, eggshell, or mint green..I like the idea of black to make them stay away too..
  14. i agree with a peach colour because they are guest so you want it to look good and welcoming
  15. I think it would depend on the color.........yes lighter colors are better and would make it brighter and look bigger.Any light color like baby blue, cream, pink, etc. would look lovely.....
  16. Pink is considered calming and relaxing. Where I used to work, we had a "Pink room" that we'd take angry customers into to talk.
  17. why dont you try a light orange...goldish color.. you know pottery barn sells some great colors that you cant find in home stores.
  18. light colors like white baby blue soft tones so your guest will fell very relaxed while visiting
  19. Who the hell wants guest! Make it a billards room.
  20. a very pale peach with a contrasting wall slightly darker would be nice. Also mirror tiles that have a scene or pattern could be used to add depth.
  21. Just do an accent wall a bold color like red and then a softer neutral color on the other walls. Put some mirrors up to open the room along with sheer curtains to let light in. That will open it up alot.
  22. Why not try different hues and textures of beige and cream? It really allows so many things to be incorporated into your decorating and is always peaceful and tolerated by most guests as it is neutral. It can look so incredible and rich that your over night guests will never want to leave. Good luck!
  23. Seafoam Green or Pale Yellow would look nice and make the room seem open/bigger.
  24. Benj Moore Wheatfields. It's an butterscotch color. Loks beautiful in sunlight and in darker light.
  25. i think a light, soft, mossy green would reflect light, make it seem larger and be easier to decorate with - either with earth tones or vibrant ones - whichever you prefer

  27. off white or anything light.its relaxing...
  28. I think a light warm color would seem nice. Maybe like a warm beige color or a cream color. That way its still a lighter color but not stark and white. Hope that helps.
  29. i think some shade yellow........perhaps golden yellow!!??
  30. how about a canary yellow with white ceiling, or a lavender with tan carpeting and white ceiling. (this is how we did our daughter's room.) we did our other daughter's room a rose (pink) with a trim of light blue hearts
  31. 1 wall cream and the other ligth purple, i saw it at a friends house it was really nice. but don't do yellow, i have a yellow room and i don't like it.
  32. pick a neutral or one of the warm white shades then you can change the look with your accessories when you have a guest make a note of accent colours you used for each guest and change them next time they come to stay it will make them think you've redecorated i do this they always comment on how nice the room looks my white and black theme looks stunning and really trendy
