Tips on making bedroom more grown up!?

My tiny new room is painted light creamy pink and there's another wall thats painted dark pink. Repainting is not an option and i would like to know what i can do to make it a little more grown up since im 18. Like what comforter designs/colors, paintings, and stuff like that. Thanks

  1. try putting some mature hangings on yor wall...
  2. lol go with what you like. Your room should be reflecting personality, who cares what people say right... i say you do your own thing
  3. put a Multi-coloured collage on the wall
  4. I would add some brown accessories...brown and pink is a nice, adult color combination. Avoid anything that's really frilly, like ruffled pillows, and if you have any stuffed animals, limit yourself to one on a chair or on the bed. Tab top curtains will look nice. Black and white prints or posters will also help it look like an adult's bedroom.
  5. Solid, neutral colors like offwhite, tan, and navy blue are more grown up. Prints of old paintings can be picked up cheap and might add a classy air to the room. If you're not into art, band posters are always an option.
  6. For my daughters room we took out the fuzzy pillows and rugs and put her dolls on a shelf in the corner of her room not seen from the doorway. We printed some pictures off line of designs of different colors. We bought some lines of solid colors and left the walls the same color...which is a pastel pink. Her room still had colors she liked just more frilly and more sophisticated. Hope this helps!
  7. Get a plain colored comforter in a light to medium olive green, with throw pillows in both pink and green. For paintings go to a good store that sells prints and posters and choose ONE theme ... with pink and green, you could choose just flowers in vase, or a garden of some sort. Get one BIG poster and have it framed. To keep your whole room looking more 'grown up' get boxes or fabric drawers and put 99% of the 'cluttery stuff' into them, and put them neatly on shelves or in the closet, and choose one or two nice figurines or vases that reflect the theme of your room. If you choose flowers, you could have some silk flowers of the same colors in one vase, and have two or three small 'birds' around it ... get nice lamps that are as PLAIN as you can get, so they can be used with everything you will ever want to do in your room. As you grow up more, your tastes will change, but for now, I think this is a very 'grown up' room for a young woman ... and you may keep out ONLY ONE stuffed animal, and put all the others into a box and give them to a homeless shelter that serves children or into storage for your kids when you have them ... same with the other 'toys' and stuff ... keep your room (and your desk) clean, and you will be on the way to a happy adult life.
  8. I would do a dark brown with that pink, and accessorize with silver. Do a brown Damask pillow shams and curtains, with a silver bedspread and a pink throw blanket, also do pink throw pillows. Get a polished silver lamp, and accessorize with plants and books, and magazines. But the best way to make a room grown up is to have rich fabrics.
