Contemporary Bedroom design help?
Hi. I am designing a contemporary bedroom for about a 9x8ish room. However, I am stuck. I will for sure have a black glass top/metal frame contemporary computer table and will have a black wood platform bed. Basicallly, all my furnuture will be black. However, I am confused about the color of the walls. I really want the room to look sleek, but I am not sure how to do it. I was thinking of painting the walls white and the trim black, and then having red accents. Is this a good idea? How much red should I use? If not what color should the walls be? Should they be red, white, black, or gray? What about the carpet and trim? ALL SUGGESTIONS WILL BE APPREATED!!!!! Thanks!

- Grey palette matching the black with white from that same palette scheme on the trim corners. Perhaps even a flat ceiling molding corner trim rather than traditional crown molding Victorian. Go for a similar vase in that room and metallic ornamental extending out of it [ just 3 or 4 ] . Lighting modern chrome and halogen standing near bed and perhaps wire flex- track that can be snaked and curved to where you need it by computer. Vs. Fixed track old style.
- Black and white with red accents will be a pretty stark effect, even for very contemporary interiors. I'd suggest softening it up with a strong neutral on the walls, which can look sleek and still comfortable. Keep in mind that someone will be sleeping in this room, so you'll want to keep it approachable. If you feel that you have to paint the trim, there's where you can use your white. Feel free to use color in the accents, such as artwork & bed linens, such as the red (but overdo the red.) It would really help to be able to see photos of the room to give more detailed info.
- Medium gray walls with Ruby red accents. Have like a lamp that's white with red shape, red candle, red clock and maybe a red rose.
