- i want to decorate my room too (im 16) i think i know what i'm going to do but this is what i did to help decide: 1. look through design magazines (you don't have to buy them just walk into borders and flip through) to get ideas. 2. go to websites that sell furniture etc because usually they have a picture of their furniture in a designed room. go to ikea.com target.com or paint seller websites have pictures of designed rooms: valspar.com behr.com (you can also experiement with color schemes on those paint sites) 3. on hgtv.com: -roll over decorating and click designers' portfolio. -you can browse rooms there or do a search depending on style, room, designer 4. theres a website called designmyroom.com and click start new project. you can test colors and furniture etc. on there. here's some color schemes: -a bright color on the wall with white bedding and colorful accessories -a beach scheme with pale blues, beiges, silver -fantasy theme with lilacs, metallics, pinks, blues, purples there are soooo many combinations just look around! good luck hth
- Go with a color that will fit you something that doesn't bring depression. You need a room that brings you enter peace (go ahead say I want enter peace) Feel that. That is what you need I my self went for that two years ago I made sure everything in my room matched that is glass for the main parts silver/mettle for frames and black/white for appliances in my bed room My walls are this nice light tanish yellow more tan then yellow (kinda like a cream). -back to you- If you don't like to match don't find a color that goes with everything (Just remember make sure it brings you enter peace) If i was you look threw a few magazines fine things you like mike it up though try making it different colors something you like. Just remember try something to make you have inter peace inside you. -You will never feel depressed when you are inside that room- (edit) Make sure you don't clutter the room try putting on a wall a big pictures (ex. Put a thing blanket that you love hanging on the wall that can be your key design) find things to match weather its the pictures on it or just the colors that always helps makes it ten times easier it will also give you the feeling of safety having something that reminds you of a blanket you love. Good luck :) You can do it just don't clutter the room (try to keep it the same amount of objects) -Find your aloud payment- I know you will do fine good luck have fun and be safe!
- ask her what her fav color is and her fav magazines or her fav music starts that he can put all over her room
- You have to start somewhere and I think the best thing to do is shop for a comforter set that you really love. After you find that the rest will come together. Pick an accent color from it to paint the walls, consider decals on one accent wall, find cute lamps, art, accent pillows, and throw rugs. Don't buy everything at once. Add pieces slowly and mix and match patterns. Once you decide on a color scheme, I'll be happy to be more specific with ideas.
- First figure out if you want a soft and feminine feel to the room or a bold and brassy one. I like the softer feel in a bedroom because it is relaxing. If you are into pink as so many young teens are...then a soft....very soft pastel pink on the walls with white trim can go with a lot of pretty accents. If you want something bold then consider a strong yellow/mustard for the walls with burgundy and dark green accents. It is really all about the feeling you want the room to give you.
