  2. That is enough money to buy furniture of good quality. Check the furniture places on my website: http://www.geocities.com/desertbloom2003/GuidetoLivingintheUAE.html
  3. From my own experience: Ikea: cheap things from Ikea won't last long and more expensive stuff is good, but you can get the same quality cheaper and you do not have to build it up yourself. Ikea also charges for delivery. It's the European style of furniture what makes people buy at Ikea. Home center: many furniture "made in China" and not solid wood. Nothing for me. Dishes, accesseries etc. is okay. The one: not my style, not enough variety, to expensive Gemaco: good quality, good service. Bought my office furniture there and I am satisfied. Gives good discounts. Interiors: my favourite and recommendation to you. Good quality (solid wood), nice, good and friendly service, free home delivery and building up. Most of their furniture are made in Malaysia. That's the place where I got the most of my furniture from. If you do not find what you want because of the style, quality or price, carpentry is cheap here in the UAE. If you want something special made, look for a good carpenter, show him a pic, select some wood from samples and have things made. I have shelves and corner pieces and a whole entertainment center made and it was cheaper and has a better quality than in any store. Same with curtains. Have them made before buying ready made ones. Take care.
  4. Let's see, this is based on my personal experience. IKEA: I'm a huge fan of their furniture. Its affordable, durable and very unique..the quality is great actually. You can find whatever you need there since they have great variety and they are not your conventional furniture shop so you certainly have a lot to choose from. Home Centre: To me, this store is bloody boring. The only things I like there are the lovely collections of fancy kitchenware and bedsheets + bedcovers. The One: Great quality, quite pricey but everything they sell lasts. Love the vintage element in their Victorian-styled beds, couches and dining table. Especially the dining tables! The kitchenware is to die for! Its THE place to get those antiques that add a special touch to every corner of the house as well as bed accessories. I really fancy the cushions and cushion cases; mostly hand woven. Id Design and Interiors are modern yet classy. The price is just right for them, but I haven't had any personal furniture shopping experience with either yet. You should also consider Pan Emirates; they are the best in the furniture business in the UAE. Hope I helped :)
  5. IKEA will be good for furnitures as for its quality and style, and prices. http://www.uaeforums.org .
  6. all of the companies you listed are good .. but here is my advice .. IKEA is good and cheap .. but buy the small completing items like shelves or carpets or curtains for your kids .. dont buy beds or cabinets or sofas for example .. Home Center is recommended .. slightly more expensive than ikea but get use of the discount offers .. quality of items in general .. ID design and The One is un-reasonably expensive .. however .. they have some good small items if you want .. but you can visit them or check their websites and see what suits you .. good luck =)
  7. Royal Furniture at Meena Port. Great choice and good value.
