Can I paint cheap bedroom furniture? Like the fake wood?

Ok I might sound a little stupid but can you sand fake wood? Wont that ruin it?

1. Yes, and you should! Add some creativity! Be sure to sand first to roughen the surface and then use a primer. The fake surfaces aren't made to stick to paint, so these steps are important.
2. Yes- sand it down a bit with a really small grit sand paper then put a basecoat primer (white usually) on it.
3. I agree with the others.... lightly sand and prime. Be Blessed!
4. Light sanding is like dusting the piece really good. You won't be taking anything off when you sand it. Good luck with your project.
