  1. make everthing black
  2. i got all the stuff for my college apt at wal mart and ikea. they have super cheap stuff and it looks really stylish.
  3. Try IKEA.
  4. ikea is a very hot place to go for furniture and at decent prices. also walmart has some pretty good stuff. you can always look at craigslist too because what somebody may not want could be awsome for you.
  5. check Bed bath and beyond or Linens and things, they normally have cheap, and most of the time in style furniture, and accessories, etcetera
  6. Target and Walmart are my number 1 and 2 places to go. I'm in the same boat. I just a got an apartment and planning to decorate it. For cheaper furniture Try American freight (http://www.americanfreight.com) I found my bedding on a website too (http://www.domestications.com) but Target has that stuff too. I recommend a Bed in a Bag set. They tend to be cheaper in the long run. But really, Target and Walmart are really good for the other stuff. Rugs can be found at FWS for good prices too. Good Luck!!
  7. The best place for "Cheap" is Target or Wal Mart, even though the prices are alittle high, they are cheaper then most places, and if you are looking for sofas, maybe macys can make a deal where you can have a monthly payment for the sofas/chairs
  8. I think the next big thing in interior design is going to be a return to the 20s, and the furniture abounds right now at Thrift shops, as do mirrors. Cheap wall decorations would be art deco prints, magazine pages (you can still find them in dusty bins in antique stores for very little cash) and old sheet music (which used to have gorgeous artwork). Also, movie stills of silent film actors, as long as they are just copies, are cheap. Wallpaper is a pain. Paint is cheaper and easier.
