- Yard sales are a good place to start. You can check thrift stores. Or best bet Dumster diving if you really want something for free.
- You can't find good furniture today, manufactured in recent years, for a cheap price. Find out how to refinish antiques, buy older furniture that is built out of wood, not chip board, and do it yourself. I just bought an 1880s Chesnut 3 drawer chest for 49 bucks, a washstand, Cherry, for 59 bucks, and saw another washstand for 49 bucks today. All solid wood, all worth far more than what I paid for them, and all of them will last centuries.
