I was wondering if there are any good places to shop to get quality Items such as furniture such desks for studying, places to keep clothing, pillow cases, sheets, curtians, etc for a teen girls bedroom that don't cost an arm and a leg. If you have any online places to shop let me hear'em. I'm speifically looking for stylish/different pieces. Also if there is any book you known of that has suggestions on how to organize and decorate a space to it's best advantage let me known.

  4. I ust decorated my room all by myself on a very tight budget...I am 24 but i have to admit a teen would LOVE my room. A good scheme for a teen girl would be WHITE furniature and LIME GREEN and ELECTRIC BLUE stuff...very popular scheme lately. The walls are the blue color and all of my things are a combo al all of these in all sorts of patterns!! I bought 2 cheap dressers (not for long term use, but good for a few years) from KMart for $30. You could check out IKEA if you live near one they have VERY affordabe furniature!! I also bought a BEAUTIFUL white 8 drawer dresser for $5 on Craiglist. Check out Craigslist.com in your area and i guarentee you will find people wanting to ust get rid of furniature!!! You ust have to pick it up!! So that does it for large pieces. Now, you can save A LOT of money of you know how so sew simple squares! I went to a fabric store and bought fabric for the room ( bedspread, curtains, dresser covers, anything). I made a duvet cover for my existing bedspread one side fabric, one side an old sheet) and i made simple squares as curtains then bought those new curtain rings with little clips on the bottom and ust clipped the square i made onto the rings!!This makes the curtains VERY easy to open and close. Teens need a lot of shelf space. I would suggest having a shelf built all around the ENTIRE perimeter of the room about 1 foot below the celing. Stuffed animals and things that arent used often can be put up there to reduce clutter! I also bought a bunch of plain picture frames and put colored paper in them and hung them on the wall for blocks of color!!
