Teen girl bedroom?!?
Okay, so I am re-decorating my bedroom. It is a small room, about 8.5 by 10.5 ft, has one big window on one wall that is about 4.5 by 3.6 ft, the door in on the opposite wall, my closet is on another wall. I already have the furniture which includes: Bed, bedside table, a small desk with hutch, six drawer dresser, and a tall bookcase. That is all the furniture that will fit in my room, but what is a neutral colour I should paint the walls? What kind of lighting should I get? What other things should I have? My floors are a medium colour hardwood. Please help me! I want my room to not be kidish, but sopisticated. All of the furniture is white. 10 points to best answer in the next half hour. Thanks in advance :) The duvet I was thinking of getting is mostly chocolate brown, with some turqoise blue in the sheeting, and dots of pink white a tan colour and tuquoise blue in the duvet.

- Paint it a light pink or light peach a mirror hanging on the wall with make your room look bigger!! hope I helped
- I think it Will be easy since all the furniture is white. How about white and blue or white and purple?-like a lavender.
- OKAY. WELL IM A TEENAGER, MY FURNITURE IS WHITE. AND ON MY WALLS I HAVE ORANGE WALLS WITH TEAL,LIME GREEN, PINK, AND YELLOW POLKADOTS. THIS MAKES A SMALL ROOM LOOK BIGGER THAN IT REALLY IS. MAKE SURE YOU STAY AWAY FROM STRIPES IT MAKES THE ROOM LOOK A LOT SMALLER THAN IT REALLY IS. ~GOOD LUCK~
- If you want a 'classy' looking room, you should paint your walls either pure white and put up some interesting art (which can be things you enjoy, from old movie posters to stuff you cut from magazines 'en collage' (paste pictures to a board in an interesting way). I'd paint the room a light to medium tan, though, with 'white' woodwork and doors, and get some good pillows for the bed in blacks and dark brown, plus 'warm brown' ... and get a small area rug to set beside your bed with the same darker colors.
- Since all of your furniture is white, and you are thinking of a chocolate bedding, I would do the walls a chocolate! And then any pictures or what ever you hang up could be framed in the other colors in the bedding. Either the actual frames, or color blocks painted on the wall! And the curtains should be a color in the bedding as well, but not the chocolate!
- When my daughter was making the same decisions we decided to go with a VERY soft pink on the lower half of the walls divided the room with an orchid print wall paper boarder then painted the upper half with an off white. The pink is very soft, only really highlighted by the fact that there is pink in the wall paper (which was the whole idea). She has about the same amount of furniture as you do, and it is a tight squeeze for the bookcase, but that is on the wall with the window, at a right angle to the desk. The key is, really, to decide what "accessories" you want, if any. Her room has an Asian art theme (hence we began with the orchids) and have added pieces here and there. As for lighting, go with something that you can change easily. We bought an inexpensive halogen from WalMart. We bought a black tall floor lamp, to compliment some of the black frames of some of her artwork. Hope that gives you some ideas to work with!
- Design the room around Satan (the Devil) trust me She'll love it
- How about a soft green, like Japanese Maze by Dulux? http://www.dulux.co.uk/servlet/ColourSchemeHandler?name=japanese_maze_4 I think it would look good with the duvet you described. Then scatter some plants (either live or fake - the effect is the same) and some candles around your room & it will feel very homey.
