  1. get a large bulliton board for her.
  2. Do lots of neon colors
  3. i'm 13 and i painted my walls bright blue and covered them almost all over with posters and cool magazine ads and pictures of my friends. i have silver metal furniture and i don't have a bedspread or curtains yet but i'm getting either black and white pinstripes or polka dots. oh and lots off mirrors! mirrors are great they make a room look bigger and mines are squiggles so they look cool too.
  4. 14 year old girl.........I am seeing a funky bohemian look with light turquoise, light blue and lime green. Maybe some canopies, lots of mirrors in different sized silver frames. Big overstuffed floor cushions in coordinating colors, soft sheer light blue curtains. If that is too girls, check out www.cb2.com for more contempo modernistic ideas!!! Hope this helps. :)
  5. i would definitely lean towards a clean Asian look, paper lanterns, earth tones, with pops of color (turquoise, orange, pale blue sage) using clean lines with lots of storage, with defined areas for study, sleep, relaxation, will help provide tranquility (its hard being 14) and help keep her organized. URBAN OUTFITTERS (www.urbanoutfitters.com)has an on-line catalog with a great blend of classic/trendy stuff that she, with a spending limit and help from you, can choose for herself. some accent pieces that define the tone of the room - the wall decals are awesome, and i love the flowering branch bedspread. this stuff is fanciful enough for a 14 but mature and chic enough that she'll still love coming home to it after she goes off to college
  6. Do up old picture frames wooden ones pref-able. and paint pictures on them including the frame. Cushions for the bed in all different plain colours. Plain colour doona cover. Band posters for the walls. Pieces of coloured cork cut into circles (you can buy already cut you'll just have to paint them.) and glued to a piece of board or even cardboard, to make a notice board, which she can use for photos, to do list, notes and reminds. Kinda like this: OOO OOO OOO Then all you need is drawing pins. THats about all the ideas I have.
  7. Try a "moroccan" theme. You can use a variety of colors, reds, golds, purples, blues, all very vibrant colors. Lots and lots of pillows in those colors with glass beads on them. Netting over the bed. Large floor pillows stacked in one corner of the room, sort of like an oasis setting area. If you really want to go all out you can attach fabric to the ceiling to give the "tent" effect. Young girls seem to like this "theme" as it makes them feel like a "princess". Round beds are also available which carry the them even further. Attach the netting above the bed drapped around it. I believe that Ikea carries these beds, and does not cost an arm and a let. Do a search on the web for "morroccan" themed rooms, you will get lots of ideas. Happy decorating!
