how can I get crayon off my kids bedroom wall?

my kids room is flat painted, and my four year old decided to practice his writting skills. I tried to use a magic eraser but it seems to be taking the paint off but "magically" embedding the crayon further into the paint! WTF! please help. thanks

1. Don't take it off. Leave it there until he's (?) old enough to decide it looks bad and wants to repaint it. This kind of incident will probably happen again if you take it off.
2. I agree with thor. When he's old enough he can repaint the room himself.

4. try WD40 but spray it somewhere that doesnt show too much and see if it wipes it clean...it usually works
5. try tooth paste NOT THE GEL KIND but the orginial paste.

7. Use the new Mr. Clean Magic Eraser....those things are incredible. I haven't found anything that works quite so well without discoloring the paint or surface you're scrubbing to get the crayon or marker off. I've got a 4 year old that used to love attacking things with her crayon. We tried everything you could think of. then one day we got one of those little sponge miracles in the mail as a sample and tried it...we were hooked. Try them out and you'll love it. They work great on refridgerators, tile floors, carpet floors, the couch cushions, the desk, doors, LOL...we took her crayons aways so she started sneaking some home from daycare in her pockets!! LOL
8. Let him clean it on his own when he grows older otherwise re-paint the wall. No other option. Cleaning the wall with a detergent or stain remover can damage the paint because they contain certain acids that corrode the paint and that will look ugly!
9. I have to go with the WD40 answer. It seems to take crayon off anything, without leaving marks. I love the Magic Eraser for everything EXCEPT on walls!! It takes the damn paint off everytime.
10. Disclamer: I have read this but haven't tried it.... Lay a scrap piece of cotton cloth (not polyester or whatever - an old T-shirt is perfect) over the crayon and iron it with a hot iron. The crayon will adhere to the cloth.

12. Any kind of wet cleaning product is just going to leave a huge blob on your wall if it's flat paint. I would highly recommend repainting your child's room with a washable paint so you can clean it. That's the only thing that's going to cover up markings on a flat painted wall. The good thing is, for now, until you can get to it, if you still have some paint from that room, you can just go over that spot and it will dry without looking like you only painted that spot. That's the only nice thing about flat paint - you can re-touch without painting the whole wall. But it should never, never go in a kid's room. Good Luck!!
