Teen bedroom to young adult bedroom?
I'm a college student and I'm moving into a new apartment; which means a new bedroom. I'm looking to move away from anything that reminds me of a dorm room and make it a more mature space. I think I'm going for something sexy, inviting, and classy. But I'm open to anything! As is I have a mirrored nightstand from Urban Outfitters, a sheepskin rug, white bedding, sheer teal curtains and birch furniture. Everything can be replaced except for the furniture. And I love the colors black, blue, and purple. Any ideas to help transition my room from teen to young adult would be greatly appreciated!

- Get rid of the skin rug. The rest depends on your own personal liking and budget. Target has some good ideas.
- You can change the whole thing for cheap. You'll want something that relaxes you and feels like you're away. I found a blue and brown bed set with curtains. I think you'll need 2 night stands and some new lighting. Save the mirror table you have to go with the chaise, if you have enough room and money. Good luck!
- 1] if you have a double bed, need two night tables - they don't need to match, though. Just use a plain table for the second one, with a cloth over it. 2] buy two matching lamps for bedsides. 3] how about a teal spread for the bed? Then put up the teal sheers [ with blinds or shades beneath.] 4] or use the teal sheers, some teal throw pillows, and teal/purple/black/chrome accessories in lamps/shades, vases, ornaments, pic frames, candles/holders. 5] Buy two lamps or pair of standing lamps for living room too. 6] then make bedroom purple [ bedspread, drapes, throw pillows ], with purple, black, and blue/chrome accessories. [ lamps/shades, vase, ornaments, candles/holders ]. 7] kitchen can be mostly white, with some blues and purples in curtains/valence, and linens such as tablecloth, runner, placemats, potholders, kitchen towels, etc. 8] add some pretty canisters, or bowl, or centerpiece. 9] bath can be mostly white, with a shower curtain in your colors [ purple, blue, black ]. Pick one of the deeper shades for floor mat, trash can; and a lighter shade of same for toothbrush holder, soap dispenser, a pretty fat candle. Add a floral wreath if blues and purples if walls look bare. 10] try to get art in the colors you like - they will help room look finished. 11] framed photos of family, friends, events, etc. are always homey, and interesting. 12] if there is a window, add a plant - they soften the room, and make it more appealing. 13] put candles [ dif shapes and colors in dif rooms ] in all adult rooms.
