Is it ok to kick my neighbours tomcat if I catch it spraying in my kids bedroom again?

It's taken to coming in if the doors or windows are open and pissing up the walls and on my kids bedding. It's driving me nuts. Is it wrong to throw reasonably heavy things at it or kick it? My house stinks! No-one has screen doors in Europe, we just leave the doors and windows wide open in summer. It gets hot, and shutting them isn't an option. I'm guessing aircon is the norm in America. Shutting the windows isn't an option here.

  1. Water pistols work well on cats, if not, then a light kick should do it. Just dont break ribs or anything!!!
  2. ya that's ok
  3. No!! but dont throw or kick it very hard.. thats just cruel... But maybe first u should confront ur neihgbours. Scare them by telling them that u'll call the counsil or somethin.. good luck!
  4. Not only is it *OKAY* to kick it-- but you can also grill it, and feed a starving Korean family, to boot.
  5. You have to protect your house so yes that would be fine. Try closing your windows and doors too, I bet that would help.
  6. No way!! It is okay to get screens on your windows and doors to prevent him from entering.
  7. NO! Be a little more civilized and stop being speciesist. You can solve the problem differently.
  8. You are worried about a cat coming in your house. You leave doors and windows open, who else can come in.... any one can come in. You first need to make sure the doors and windows are closed so the cat can not come in.
  9. Only if you're reasonably good at martial arts, otherwise you may miss and break your hip.
  10. If you're adamant about not installing screens on your windows, can you perhaps set something on the ledges so the cat can't simply hop in? As for open doors, I'd be more worried that a dangerous person might walk in through an unattended open door. Anyway, although I don't usually suggest violence, it's apparent that the cat needs some heavy aversion therapy, so I would condone chasing it out and even using your foot to make a point.
  11. I would kick it!
  12. kick it quite softely and hiss at it alot
  13. ew kick it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  14. Ask your neibour to be neighborly and get it spayed . If your desperate and she/he cant afford it, offer to help. The cat protection society will usually do it for nothing if necessary
  15. Go to your local garden centre, you can get a 'screamer' from there - it admits a high pitched noise every time it senses movement. Humans can't hear it, but cats can, and they hate it. It causes them no pain, it just annoys them. I've got one in my garden, because the local cats (and the local foxes) carried on digging up my carrots and potatos to take a crap) Worked wonders. My veggie patch is forever untouched, and the cats and foxes are making use of the unused boarder for all their bathroom needs. Everyone is happy.
  16. My neighbor's cat was spraying the interior of our vehicle and also beating up our cats. I borrowed a humane trap and caught him. He now resides in another neighborhood.
  17. I think I would put some poison in some chicken for the damn thing! Why do people have these awful animals, and when they spray on your property they just say "it's natural". Pee on their bedding, see how they like it! Alternatively, and a little less extreme, those sonic repellents are supposed to be good, keep the rotten thing right out of your property, and the s.o.b. next door won't know you've got it if you're careful.
  18. Yes of course......
  19. Go down to the garden centre and get some cat repellent. to use outside the house of course. Clearly it is marking its territory but it shouldn't be doing so in your house. There may well be another Tom cat in the area and this is the time of year for cats to 'get it on' Do talk to your neighbours and you can seek help from the local council on nuisance grounds if your neighbours are unhelpful. Don't use force you'll only feel guilty at your actions later.
  20. Ask your neighbors to solve the problem first. Maybe getting him fixed would help. If they don't listen, then just trap the cat next time he comes in your house and call animal control. I bet you won't find it happening too much after that. I'm sorry, but I don't agree that a person should expect a cat to enter their house if they leave the window open. Responsible pet owners should have control over their animals and keep them from going onto other people's property.
  21. You want the cat to have a negative association with your place. Kicking it won't do any good, because most likely you would hold back, and he might think you are playing. Grab him by the throat and run some cold sink water on his head. That should work.
