Room color scheme Brown and Pale Blue?

I am in the process of decorating my bedroom. The floor is walnut colored hardwood. My furniture is a dark espresso color and my comforter set is primarily brown with pale blue lines. My question is: What color paint should I consider for the wall? Darker or a lighter brown/beige-ish color. Also, what would be a more contemporary look 1) The walls and ceiling all the same color or 2) Different ceiling and wall colors? If I went with option 2, should i make the window sills the same color as the ceiling for added contrast?

not blue. just... don't pick blue. i suggest a green, it's the best color for a bedroom, it supposedly refreshes your mind, and it goes well with brown. think of a Granny Smith apple :]
i personally love the pale blue and brown combo. if your furniure is brownish, then i would probably reccommend that you do your walls a pale blue... brown the borders if you wish. the ceiling you can do an off white with a blue tint. important thing to keep in mind.... make sure your wall colors are a few shades off of your furniture and accessories, so as not to make it look gaudy...
That color combo sounds fantastic.... I would do a blue like an accent color, behind the bed ! Maybe even a stripe effect of blue/cream ! The rest of the walls a creamy white or beige... Do the ceiling light white so the room doesn't appear too dark.... The window pane/sills should be like the ceiling white... Then hang picture's in walnut style/color frames to tie in the floor.. Bring some of the dark color so the floor isn't so "heavy".... I hope that helps and good luck....
Well...it depends on how big your room is and if you want a light room or a dark room. Obviously, darker colors will make it look darker and smaller. Sounds like you have alot of dark tones already--with your walnut flooring, dark espresso furniture and comforter. Me---I would paint the walls a soft blue color to play off of the pale blue lines in your comfortor.. Benjamin Moore has a color called "Silver Mist". It is beautiful and would look gorgeous on your wall. You could go a tint up or down with your ceiling, meaning lighter or darker than the wall. Yes, do a contrast on your sills. That would look sharp !! Beige would be boring---in my opinion. Have Fun with your Remodel !!
Use a cream/tan/beige (the same tone as the brown in the comforter, just lighter shade) on the walls. Use the blue on the ceiling, as it will reflect off the walls giving you an amazing effect. If the trim has already been painted go with an espresso brown. Buy candles & throw pillows in the pale blue, Be certain to include at least one green plant in the room. Hope this helps.

My friend painted her bedroom a rich hydragea blue and then the large bath next to the bedroom 2 shades lighter in the same blue. It looks great. She thought about doing the ceiling blue also, but changed her mind. Good move, it would have been too much and inclosing. She did it white.So I agree with different color ceilings,--lite color to make ceiling look higher, darker to lower it. I like contrast in the windows. To give it a more contempory look, don't over accessorize with doo-dads. Keep it simple. THe furniture sounds pretty.Don't forget some striking wall art and tuck accessories away for a clean , modern look.
