Two sets of track lighting went out in the bedroom at the same time. Fuse is fine, outlets in room work.?
I am assuming the problem is with the light switch. Any other thoughts on what might cause both sets of lights (3 per set) to go out at the same time? I also checked the bulbs, they are fine.

- First of all, the odds of having a bad switch are between zero and none. However, you WILL want to check the wires that are coming from the lights to the switch - one may have pulled loose from the screw. Understand that the 2 light systems are connected in parallel. While they do not work with the outlets in the room or a connecting room, they are probably 'picking up' the 120VAC from one of the outlets. Check all the wires that are connected to the outlets. The chances are fair you could find a wire that has pulled loose from either the wall switch, the outlet where the lighting is getting its voltage, or, most likely, where the wires from the light system is connected. Carefully check all the wire nuts. The greatest odds are one of the wires simply isn't making a good connection. It'll take a little time, but it's do-able.
- It is probably the switch, but you need to remember that the tracks are the wiring that transmits the electricity to the lights. Also, the outlets may be on a different breaker. If you are an electrician, or know how to test electrical circuits, you could test to see if there is current leaving the switch after the switch is energized. Then you should test the connections, and the tracks themselves. Also test the connections where the lights connect with the tracks. You should do this with a continuity tester if you are not used to working with 120 vac. If you are not experience with electrical circuits, call someone who knows how to test them. Do not electrocute yourself!
