I live in Maine I am helping a friend with two kids move up from PA. ?

I'm 20 and I have no idea where to start. I know I'll need beds and furniture I have some, but not enough for them all. I have to get a bigger place, but will somebody rent a 3-4 bedroom to me since it's just me looking at the place? I have a decent job where I could make the rent without a problem. I've lived with or rented from family since I've been on my own so what do I put down for references? And where do I start with getting the furniture and such so its as ready as possible for the kids? I would appreciate as much information as possible!!!!

  1. Since you are in Maine, try Uncle Henrys. Great deals in there. I dont have any other ideas though, I cant help myself :(
  2. If your credit is good and you can prove your income, there should be no problem in renting a place that size. Be sure you tell the landlord about the other people that would be occupying the place so he is aware of it. You could go to a thrift store and purchase some of your needed items to save on money. Salvation Army usually has a large selection of furniture. Explain your renting situation with the landlord as to why you do not have a rental history other than family rentals. In checking your credit report he will not see any negatives concerning an eviction, credit cards in collection, unpaid bills, etc. Best of luck.
  3. Have you cleared it with your landlord that there will be extra people living in you place? If not you should. yes they will rent to you explain the situation. Go to Wallmart and get some camping inflatable beds around $30-50 a piece pump is around $30 comfortable and cheap and good for around 6-8 moths
