How to decorate teen girl's bedroom - light purple walls, dark wood furniture, love music, on a budget...?

I have a pretty average sized bedroom with light purple walls, kind of a lavender, and my room feels crowded because I have a lot of dark brown wood furniture. I'm a teen girl and my parents won't let me get rid of anything so I stuck my nightstand in the closet...still crowded though. I love to listen to music and play piano, but I don't know where to get posters or how to fix this room. I was thinking about sticking music notes on my wall but I don't think this will fix it. I also like celestial and some gothic things (not scary/ bloody or whatever comes to mind) just my room is a mess and boring and crowded. Any ideas?

  1. JUST BE A GIRL AND DO WHAT YOU CAN WITH WHAT YOU HAVE
  2. maybe you could visit freedom? Or just re-decorate your room with the stuff you have! Good Luck!
  3. Yellow is a perfect complement for purple and it will look good with the dark wood. You might be able to find (at a craft store) yellow stick-on sun, moon, stars, etc. to put above the head of your bed. I'm thinking a shade darker purple for your bedspread and yellow and dark purple pillows. Sheers for your windows to make it look more open.
  4. Save up some money and try going to Walmart or the JC Penny Home Store where you can buy numerous things that match what you're searching for in order to get the kind of room you want. -Hope this helped!
