1. wow you can get them at furniture stores and stores like Walmart and Kmart.
2. I think you mean "Futon Bed". They are available at lots of places like IKEA, Walmart, Target,online and local bed and mattress stores, garage/tag/yard sales, Craig's List, newspaper classifieds, etc. If you are going to use it as the child's primary bed then buy an inner spring mattress instead of the typical foam and padding mattress. It will be more comfortable and will not get flat and hard as quickly. If possible, try them out before you buy one for both comfort and also ease of opening and closing. I have a wood frame futon in a bedroom in addition to a regular bed. It's not too difficult for a teenager or adult to open and close, but a child would have a tough time with it. The metal framed ones are usually easier to operate. Also, get a water/stain resistant, zip-on mattress cover for it. I use one of the anti-allergy covers. If it will be used often as a sofa then also get a zip-on cover that zips around at least two sides. I had one that only zipped on the one end and it was a pain to take of and put on to wash it.
