Design ideas for a bedroom with wainscoting?

I'm 15 years old and I'm moving to a new house. My bedroom will have two walls that are pine wainscoting floor-to-ceiling. Also, the carpet is a gray-ish color. Does anyone have suggestions for design ideas or color schemes to go with the pine? I'm not allowed to paint the paneling which is my problem. My initial idea was to paint a wall gold or silver and do the opposite with my bedding. But I found out that looks terrible with the pine.

1. How about a border that goes on the wall to meet the ceiling. If you don't know what I mean, the border goes on the two walls that do not have wainscoting and the top edge of the border would meet the ceiling. You could probably find a border that goes with the carpet and the pine colors.
2. Can you paint the pine wainscotting? This would solve your problems.
3. I think by definition, wainscoting only goes to the mid-level on the wall. Otherwise it's called paneling. Are you allowed to paint it?
