I'm thinking of painting my bedroom. My carpet color is medium gray. What color should I paint my room?
My room is a light pink right now that I chose when I was little. I'm starting to get sick of it, so I need some ideas that will go well with my gray carpet. I suppose I could rip out the carpet and paint my room whatever color I wanted, but that's my last resort if I can't find a color I like. Thanks!

- painting the walls white and adding a pretty border or chair rail with a pattern that has a grey that matches the rug.
- Mermaid green. You know that turquoise color that is popular right now. That could be cute.
- light blue, lilac any kind of pink /pinkypurple pastel green, light turquoise esp if its a small room it will make it look more spacious or you could do the bottom a darker colour, the top a light and have a cool border in the middle with silvers and greys also match with cushions /curtains to bring it together
- you can get paint swatches of colors you like and put them next to the carpet which ever one your eyes go to most often is the color you should go with. be careful though if your going with a dark color or a color like red you will need to get a tinted primer and then the paint color so you have to use so many coats. i personally think a light blue or a light sage green would work they are pretty universal and can go with any decor.
- Gray is neutral and will go with most anything. Important thing to consider is that if you go with a dark color, it will make your room seem smaller.
- i have medium gray carpet also, and i painted my room lime green. called outragous green from sherwin willyums { idk spelling
- Since gray is neutral it should go with about anything. Get some sample colors and decide what looks best.
- My daughter just finished her bedroom. Gray carpet, she told me she was doing the walls in 2 shades of pea green. I thought "yuck" but after seeing it, it goes well, sort of a silver in the pea green. Her room is fairly large. I have gray carpet in a small bedroom, the walls are a steel blue gray color, really light somewhat like the carpet. Bring home paint swatches, lay them on the carpet, then choose.
- Go blue...a soft periwinkle would look good. Add celery or sage green and white accents.
- you should play around with the Sherwin Williams color visualizer to find something that you like. It is the best paint visualizer on the web, imho. I like how their color palette is laid out, I like that you can search by color family & color name, the "painted" rooms look the most realistic, and it suggests coordinating color schemes. You can literally spend hours: http://www.sherwin-williams.com/do_it_yourself/paint_colors/visualizer/ Anything will go with gray. I suggest a bright refreshing blue like "freshwater" (# 6774).
- Medium gray...is a nice contemporary color. Assuming you have four walls in your bedroom, I would paint three of them with a medium gray with a hint of blue, and the fouth wall (preferably the wall where there is windows on it) a much lighter shade of that blue gray.
