Remodeling a tomboy-ish teen girl's bedroom...?

I'm a teenage girl and my parents are going to FINALLY paint the bedrooms next summer. We've lived in our house for two years and they haven't got around to painting the chipping white walls yet. So... The reason I say I'm tomboy-ish is because I absolutely hate pink and purple. I'm going to paint my walls a dark chocolate brown because it's like my neutral color; I'll never hate it. My question is, what can I add to the walls and the rest of my room to make it contemporary and stylish? I don't want a safari theme or anything. Just plain brown walls with things to hang on them. My room has enough room for a queen sized bed, TV armoir, desk, and a large 3 drawer dresser. None of my furniture matches at the moment, and it bugs the heck out of me. Can you help me find a slightly inexpensive, stylish, but sturdy bedroom set that has all of those pieces? ^ Pictures and links are more than welcome :) Thanks!

  1. Ikea has pretty good stuff. They have the desk, the drawers, the closet, the bed..... Take a look: http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/categories/departments/bedroom
  2. As for the adding things to your walls to make theme more stylish, I would suggest adding a new trim on the bottom of the wall at the floor level and then some nice crown molding at the top of the wall and ceiling. Crown molding is just trim at the top of the wall, it comes in alot of fancy and stylish designs and can be painted any color you wish.
