Anyone good with interior design? Help me find bedding, curtains and paint colours that look good together!?
Its for spare room - smallish double bedroom I want neutral shades and I want it to look modern. Everything is going to be new, carpet, wall paper/paint, lighting, curtains, bedding. HELP Links would be VERY useful (i'm in UK) FULL points for my fave answer.

- This is my standard answer for choosing colors: Find a printed fabric that you like (a tie, a shirt, etc.) that has the color of the item you want to enhance. The other colors in the print will work well for anything else in the room. Pull one of the brighter colors of the print for accessories.
- Check this chocolate and blue comforter out. http://www.bedbathstore.com/hachaqbl12pi.html?utm_source=nextag&utm_medium=comparisonshopping Here's another one: http://www.jcpenney.com/jcp/X6.aspx?DeptID=59514&CatID=59514&Grptyp=STY&ItemId=15675b6&siteID=210054843 You could paint the walls a tan, beige or blue with one chocolate wall. Beautiful and stylish! jrbw
- http://www.wharfside.co.uk/team7/bedroom.html the above for your bed and side tables.. I didn't even look at the cost. I'd do all cream or a combo of cream platform and wood tables and headboard. I prefer the all cream with the cream back boards behind the side tables. I'd do a deep khaki for the walls and cream colored trim. If you like this and tell me where you'd buy bedding I can pick some. You'd have countless options for wall colors with this bed. It's a cool, contemporary clean look
- modern design can either be extremely simple and stark, or bold with flowing lines. The choice is yours. modern design can honestly look a thousand different ways, but you suggested the use of neutral shades with modern accents. I can interpret this as either the use of beige or whites ( my house is full of color, ranging from blues to grays, browns, ect ). Being in the UK, im not familiar with too many UK based websites, or your price range so im going to suggest items from IKEA. Paint: Accent wall (behind bed) Benjamin Moore "Appalachian spring" -medium to darkish brown Main walls: benjamin moore "Frosted Cafe" -a light neutral brown color, looks like the "froth" ontop of steamed milk in coffee (all paints can be found on benjamin moore's website under the color fan deck link) furniture: IKEA bed: http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/S39849799 bedding: was hard for me to find anything i liked, try to go very neutral, whites ect. furniture: http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/60064471 http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/80129589 http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/S79841659 area rug:http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/20107401
- I would go with Ikea too. Nice looking affordable furniture. Cept I would get this bed in maybe white, or you paint it another color. http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/S69849849 I don't know how neutral you want to go, ...but if you want really neutral I would go with the gray, black, & white scenario like the one in the last two pictures. http://freshome.com/2007/06/26/modern-bedroom-inspiration-6/ With he gray, black, & white scenario, you can use any color for your accents even red if you want, it will go together. If you are going to paint the walls gray don't paint them all the same shade or color or it will look too drab.
