Can a family of 5--3 kids, all share a bedroom with no furniture in FL?

My ex, and his gf, their daughter, my daughter, and the gf''s other daughter all live in a one bedroom apt. They have no furniture, and all sleep together. My question is , is this legal? I called children and families and they said there is nothing they can do. So Im ticked off about this. I don't know where on the internet, I can find more information on this:) HELP! The children are 7, 6, and almost 2. Also every other weekend, I have my child, but there is another child that stays there too-she is 9 I think. Thats the gf's other kid

  1. no this is not legal! call again, be anonymous, keep calling, have friends and family call. They are neglecting the children, unrelated children can not share a bed (or floor)
  2. Legal ? Probably not. But has this situation come up before ? Probably more times than you could imagine.
  3. no it is not legal floida law is 2 per room ... i have lived in florida all my life.. call department of children and families and its neglect the children on the floo sleeping is unsanitary how young are they ..?
  4. Call children's service's again and demand that they take a report. Not only is the living arrangement illegal...it is also dangerous..and may be considered child abuse. You may also want to report them to the local building department and fire marshall.
  5. There is no law about requiring furnature, although sleeping on the floor is not the norm in the US. There is a law about that many people all sleeping together though, that is not allowed. Call CPS again, ask your childs teacher to call as well. As soon as you make the neglect known to the teacher she is legally mandated to report it.
