How many bedrooms did you have when you first had kids?
My fiance and I want to have children. We live in a one bedroom apartment. We could fit our furniture and the baby's furniture in the bedroom. Within a year we'd probably move back to our home state. So we don't want to look for a bigger apartment if we're going to move in a year. How many bedrooms did you have when you first had kids?

- Right now we have a one bedroom apartment... but we're looking for something bigger:)
- we lived with parents for 10 months with the baby in the room with us but then we got something bigger that had 3 bedrooms. but now we have 3 kids and 2 rooms so we are thinking of something with an extra room
- We have a one bedroom right now, and are moving in April before the baby gets here.
- We just might end up having our baby with a one bedroom. You do what you have to to get by, ya know?
- You can make it work. We had a 2 bedroom house and it seemed very crowded at times, especially when the baby started to crawl. Get married and get situated before adding a baby.
- i lived at home with my parents with my 1st as i was young but if your going to be moving then i wouldn't worry to much
- When we had our son, we lived with my husbands parents and the baby shared a room with us. It was like this for 2 years. We just recently moved out of state, into our own house and now my son has his own room. Soooo much easier and he absolutely LOVES it!
- we had a 3 bedroom apartment(bedrooms were little) when our daughter was born. ..then we moved to a 3 bedroom house when she was 6 weeks old
- We lived in a 2 bedroom apartment when we had our first 3 kids. We'd signed the papers to build our first home just days before #3 was born. So the oldest 2 (a 3 yr old girl and 1 yr old boy) shared a room and the baby stayed in our bedroom till the house was done. We always kept our newborns in the room with us for the first few months anyway so I guess it worked out but those last few months in the apartment were really crowded.
- I think your living situation would be fine for that year, so don't worry... and here is some baby dust for you *sprinkle and toss* Also, the only baby furniture you really NEED is a crib. My living situations have changed through the years. When my daughter was... *Newborn - 9 months: 3 bedroom house *9 months - 3yrs: 2 bedroom apartment. (wanted to downsize to save money for other things) *3yrs - 5 yrs: With my mom, we shared a room and bed. (got divorced) *5yrs - 6 yrs: 1 bedroom w/ den apartment. (moved out of mom's house when my daughter started school) We are now in a 3 bedroom apartment and live with my boyfriend and I am expecting a baby in January. You can make it work in what ever space you have :)
- We lived in a 2 bedroom apartment when we found out we were pregnant. As soon as we found out though we started looking for a house. Found the perfect 3 bedroom house and moved in 5 months before she came!
- my brother and his wife had a one bedroom apartment when they had their first kid he said it worked for a few months but once the baby started crawling they knew the baby would need his own room for toys and stuff to play with i know me and my fiance are set i own a 4 bedroom house my dad and uncles built in 1985
- im only 14 so i live at home. but im pregnant and my house has 13 br or something like that. around there. lol
- We had a two bedroom house but they were really really small bedrooms and it was a really really small house. That is when #1 came and oh everything was just perfect... THEN surprise #2 came along very quickly and we lived there with two kids for almost three years before we upgraded. When we upgraded we were only going to get a three bedroom but I insisted on having an extra room for play or what ever GOOD thing because #3 is coming now. If you are going to move back in a year it is fine to have a one bedroom our kids stayed in a little crib by our bed the first few months because otherwise it would wake up the other baby. He loved it and now he loves his new room too.
- We lived in a 1 bedroom apartment until my oldest daughter was 2. Now I have 5 kids (girls ages 15, 12, 8, 1 and a son 5) and we live in a 3 1/2 bedroom house it's not bad at all. The kids all share rooms and the baby still sleeps with hubby and I. The worst thing is the 7 of share 1 bathroom!!! Proud momma to 5
- 2 bedrooms
- we have to bedrooms
