Remodeling a teen girls bedroom? Color ideas!?

When my sister goes to college this summer, I'm moving into her bigger bedroom. My mom wants to mostly do the decorating, but I definitely have some input. She wants to keep it neutral. I'm fine with that. We want like cream or vanilla walls with brown and tan and white furnishings. The furniture I'm gonna have is a small desk for my laptop and homework and stuff, a dresser, a white night table, possibly a vanity, if not another dresser, a flat screen on the wall, and a bed. I'm also adding a funky plant and maybe like a cool elegant old fashioned phone, and some other cool stuff. I need to make it unique! Can anyone help me add some of MY personal touches to my MOMS decor? Also, where can I add splashes of color to the neutral room. One more thing, where can I get a funtional small desk, and a cute vanity, and dresser thats funtional (for clothes, books and knick-knacks, I have a closet too.) mostly for storage? Any websites? Links/Pictures? ANY help at all would be greatly appreciated! Thanks soo much for any input at all. Oh, and I know I'm asking for alot but even a little bit would be appreciated, and I know my question is a little norganized :/ Sorry I mean *unorganized

  1. if your room is neutral then add really bright splotches of color pb teen has some nice stuff my sister has a bight blue clock that looks like the front of a chevy and i found a phone for my dad that is one of those circular dial phones in chrome but works normally these might have been from pottery barn here http://www.pbteen.com/index.cfm?bnrid=3760101&cm_ven=Google&cm_cat=BrandSearch&cm_pla=Brand&cm_ite=teen+pb http://interiordec.about.com/od/teenrooms/a/all_teenrooms.htm http://www.target.com/gp/search/188-5591580-4733211?field-keywords=teenage_bedrooms&AFID=Google&CPNG=Furniture&LNM=teenage_bedrooms&LID=14587941&ref=tgt_adv_XSGT0778 http://www.creativehomemaking.com/articles/041804a.shtml this room looks nice http://interiordec.about.com/library/graphics/o-camouflagetheme1.jpg why not try for pastel colors to give atleast a little shade if your mom wants neutral also, they sell tiny circular mirrors somewhere that you can stick on your wall
  2. Pink EVERYTHING! Teenage girls love that.
  3. polka dot vinyl wall stickers....there really cute and can add color and flare to a plain room. Just put polka dot wall stickers in google and check them out
  4. I dont really no if you are arty in any kind but you could ask your mum if you could have a wall to make your own and you could get paint just let your hands run free say if you like rainbows (just an example lol) you could draw a rainbow and then add colours to the background. If you are not arty then you could stick photo frames all different shapes and sizes all ova one wall and stick photos of your friends or anything special to you. If you dont like any of these suggestions you could get a really cool and colourful doona cover and maybe some ribbons and string etc and hang it ova the dresser to dress it up a bit. Hope i helped. I am 12 turning 13 and i am trying to redo my room aswell but mine is heaps small. Your very lucky!!
