How could I refinish my bedroom furniture?
I recently purchased a bed, bed-side table, and dresser for my bedroom. It has a smooth, black finish on it. The black color is ok, but I didn't realize how much it would show dust, and I'm getting kind of tired of it. How would I go about refinishing it and maybe staining it? I'm not sure the exact type of wood it's made of. Do you think it could possibly get wrecked if I refinished it with a light wood stain after sanding it? Thanks.

- It all depends on what it is made of.
- painted furniture is usually not-so-hot wood.... badly matched or streaky color.... since it's painted, no one cares... but if you go to refinish it, after all that work, you could be very unhappy.... might be best to just paint it.....
