Romantic bedroom... red and brown?

I have large (5' x 4') red rose photo with a contemporary steel frame, I bought for our room I want to use. We would like to have a red wall or half wall. We were thinking red on top with a chocolate or mocha brown on bottom divided with chair rail. I want to mix the reds with browns in the room because I like the natural colors and our furniture is a dark brown. And the red is romantic. With the rose photo I have two photo frames that match it for the other wall and decorate with silver vases and red candles. My colors would be various browns, red accented with silver. ounds weird but I think it will look okay...??? Any ideas? Here is something I threw together on paint to get an idea... http://img166.imageshack.us/my.php?image=bedroomwall1yy8.png http://img166.imageshack.us/my.php?image=bedroom2ft1.png

  1. Looks and sounds great, but just be careful with your brown, to make sure you get one with a red undertone not a yellow undertone, and make sure the red is a true red. I think this room will look stunning.
  2. I had this same ides awhile ago and put my plan into action. So now I have a red and brown room that i hate!! It just didn't look as good as it did in my mind. Just think that if you end up not liking it, it will cost more to fix than it did to ruin. Hopefully you have better talent than I did and good luck to you.
  3. I like the idea. Just be careful to not put too much red...It will eventually bother your eyes (for most people). Red is the color of anger also, and you don't want a room with an angry feel to it! Maybe if you get a certain shade of red it will take away the "angry" feel to it. Cause red certainly isn't a bad looking color, but it can't be over used.
