How can I make my room more punk, goth, rock, emo ish?
We just got a new house and some of the rooms were already painted. The room that I get has a black door black trim black closet doors black blinds and a black ceiling fan light. Sounds great but whoever's room it was before must have either been into a soho ish look or a modern contemporary style because the walls and ceiling are a boring beige color. Keep in mind the following: I am male. Painting over the beige is NOT an option. My furniture is a dark wood color not cherry stain but like a dark oak... so with the beige it looks more adult and classy and whatever. I dress pretty much punk, rock, emo, goth etc... I live a very alternative lifestyle and I want my bedroom to reflect that. I do have some punky looking bedding I got from wakeup frankie called prep school dropout but how else can i make it look more alternative and not so boring and classy. I'm really against and not at all into that desinger classy regular adult way of life... Thanks! For those of you who aren't answering my question and basically bashing how I choose to live my life maybe you should get one. I posted this so I could get help not a headache so go flame someone elses posts or get a life. Now if anyone else would like to actually HELP me please do. Thanks :D

- this looks like a job for... POSTERSSS :] ahah. Buy a ton of posters that reflect you,and then cut out or print pictures from the internet.. and make a big huge collage out of them. Use an entire wall, that way, noone will see the beige, no need to paint over it :] and..what i did.. Is i bought a corkboard (bulletin board), and stuck every single concert ticket on it :] or you could put those on your wall collage too if you decide to do that. I know, I'm not much help.. but it seems like a cool idea to me :]
- When I was a little younger I would put some posters up of my favorite bands. I would also buy magazines, and find any picture that I thought was interesting and put it up. I'm also very much into art so now I paint and if I really like some of my work I'll put it up on the wall. I once bought this magazine with all black and white pages (kind of like a newspaper). It was a band magazine and so it had a lot of bands I really liked in it. I took one whole wall of my room and covered it with all the punk bands I liked. It looked really awesome all black and white. I wish I could find a picture of it =/ This is the only thing I can think of other than painting the walls =/ Good luck I hope this helps!

- It's your attitude that needs changing. Why live in the shadows? If you ever want to join the productive positive thinkers that contribute to society, you need to surround yourself with thoughts of success and start living life to the fullest. Dress like a gothic punk and see if anyone will ever give you a job so you can stop living off others.

- ok well since everyone is giving crappy answers to this question i thought what the hell i'll help you out. to start off, the prep school dropout thing bedding is awsome. xD ok well either A.) cover your walls with wallpaper B.) hang velvet or any black fabric over 1-3 walls C.) i'm sure you can sweet talk your parents into paint. ;) its not that hard. ok now cover your walls in posters. tons. really awsome and cool ones too. then put random things off the internet on them. or newspaper clippings you find humerous. take a mirror, break it, then glue it onto the wall! haha then paint pictures too and hang them. find pics of emo girls that you think are hot. or boys. whatever floats your boat...lmao ok then with the furnature, spray paint it! that would look cool,, like with yellow, but make sure you can still see the dark wood underneath. then for pillows tell your mom to sew some of your bandtshirts into pillows. that would look cool! umm hang records on the ceiling. like the huge ones. or fishnets. like the tights you know? yea or just black mesh. and make sure if you do that that some of it hangs down, like um cobwebs - yes. take a bunch of magazines and fine inspiration, or cut some things out. just make sure its not a real simple. then you're a-ok. ps. oh and about that celing fan...ask your rents if you can take it down. they are gay. im sorry lol. then put in a chandelier if you have a high celing and if not then but in a normal light with a colored lightbulb! TADA!
