Would you ever spend over $ 3,000.00 for a 3 year olds first bedroom set ?

It will last till she's a teen but, don't you think thats crazy or am I crazy ?

  1. If you can afford it without using credit, then buy it. It's as simple as a math problem.
  2. i dont think i would spend that much on a kids room you never know what could happen like you might move and thats a waste of money or when your child grows up she or he might not like it and these days the economys bad, but if you hav nothing else to spend to money on go ahead =]
  3. Is it a well built, good quality set? If so, $3,000 isn't much for a bedroom set. In fact, I spent more than that on my son's one-of-a-kind designer crib. Money is relative and it all boils down to what you can afford. So no, I don't think you are crazy. I do think it's important that people spend within their means. Bottom Line: If you can afford it without using credit, and you want it, then by all means buy it and enjoy it.
  4. that's crazy...but then again i have lived off of garage sales and hand-me downs. i'm thankful for it, too. although now that i'm in college i wish i had more money.
  5. I personally would never spend that much on a temporary furniture set-up. You can get a really nice one for about half that or even less. Wait til they are ready for their "young adult" set and spend the better money on that set. They will use it much longer and be less apt to destroy it. My daughter painted her name in Bright Pink Nail Polish on her pretty new headboard then tried to take it off with polish remover, which also removes the best of furniture finishes. Or look in your local paper or craig's list even for second hand sets, you can get that higher quality at a very affordable price.
  6. No,just get what they need now because when she's a teen and she has her own idea of what she likes she will want to personalize it and that's when you want to spend the most money.I'm 13 and I remember when i was like 3-11 I didn't even care what my room looked like and now I want it to be exactly what I like and what makes it my space.
  7. No I wouldn't. They're 3 years old. They like to draw on things and tear up things. And when they get older you'll want to make their bedroom look different.
  8. NO.At that age they get alittle destructive in a nice way,you know markers, crayons things they need but don't always use correctly. She will want to change things at some point also so no,I wouldn't.No you are not crazy just practical nothing wrong with that.
  9. It's not a bad price if you are sure it will last that long and she'll still like it. At one time I would have paid that, but since I've discovered all the treasures that can be found at thrift stores, I'd have to say no. Plus, I think mixing things up is more interesting anyway!
  10. Yes, I would spend that much. I am fortunate that $3,000 would be well within my budget. I also wouldn't expect her to keep it through her teen years, knowing she would want to pick out a set herself someday.
