Teenage girls bedroom idea's??

Ok, I have a pretty big bedroom-only problem is: it was done when I was 8, and it has pink walls, a purple comforter, and it's WAAAY too little girly! My 13th birthday is coming up, and I wanted to change it. Our house is like-a log home, so 3/4 of my walls are olive-green stained wood(I can't say I like it..But I thought I could play around with it..) and wood ceilings, and wood floors. (the ceiling and floors aren't green, lol). I was wondering if anyone had any really cool idea's for a fresh now bedroom, hopefully incorporating music-which I absolutely LOVE! But I also forgot to mention one little(or should I say big!) detail: I have a brown baby grand piano in my room that we're storing for a few years O.O Sooo-the color's I'm really wanting to do are brown and green, with maybe a little white....My furniture is like-victorian(?) style white/ivory. But, also-I'd like this as inexpensive as possible!! I have pix of my room on Flickr. Just search bermudashorts01 and you'll find me. I don't have very many pix on Flickr, so it shouldn't be too hard to find them.

  1. try target they have cute stuff there! and its inexpensive
  2. take a look at www.ikeausa.com, check out the ideas there
  3. Could you repaint the olive green walls? If not, then you can view some color swatches from your local hardware store to make the color work. It also depends on your color likes and dislikes. I like a cool blue color for my room. You could buy bead board for the bottom of your chair rail. Paint the pink wall over with Kilz primer. That should help you paint another color.
  4. Your bedroom theme colours sound AWESOME. It sounds like a floral/woodsy theme, so maybe you should use flower or vine or leaf patterns in your room. Make sure you use furniture that matches the colours(WHITE) and the rugs/pillows/blankets/curtains in brown or green. Get nice vine lamps with white lampshades or something like that. Try something like this: http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_uf7HuvpnfKk/SNh16MmH-BI/AAAAAAAAA1o/pn4hDSmXRSo/s400/green+brown+blue+bedroom.jpg http://bedzine.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2008/05/137.jpg https://www.decorpad.com/photos/2008/09/14/d8e3e3a1a658.jpg Totally keep the bay window! It looks great, but move everything off it and use it as a day bed or smth. Buy green and brown pillows and a white comforter to put there. Maybe also change the curtains. Mostly just clean up and declutter. Throw away all that babyish junk to make room for your new stuff. Get a pretty white floor light too! Shop around at different stores, and slowly build everything up. Don't buy in a hurry, look slowly for the perfect things. It also helps to make a checklist of things to buy. Or sketch a rough draft of how you want your room to look. Then get ideas and feedback from friends. I'm hoping to redo my room soon, too! Good luck to both of us! :)
  5. YOU HAVE TO PAINT!: get some good ideas here : http://www.findanyfloor.com/VirtualRoomDesigner.xhtml its a fun virtual room designer and it really rocks. I like it because it gives me a picture of what looks good and what doesnt look good! Brown, Green, and white actually look amzazing together. Its really soft and grown up at the same time. When you walk into your room you will feel relaxed and no tense. I hate when I walk into a room and its painted a certain color and I just cant relax! So go for that color scheme.... do a milk chocolate brown (not too dark) , maybe a sage gree, nothing too bright, and a white (I actually saw a pearly white color one time) and its beautiful! Pearly white trim would be soooooo pretty! you can buy it at a local paint store... you can also have it made for you! :) HAVE SO MUCH FUN! I want to go remodel my room too!
