teen bedroom painting ideas?
I have a really colourful bedset it is black, orange, pink and red. I'v been wanting to paint but i can't seam to find colours to match my bed set and now im not so sure i want the colours to. For my room i was thinking that I could have an accent wall with a design on it not a mural.

- SURE YOU CAN! Think of it as a canvas. Go searching and mimic one you like. www.target.com has a bunch of artwork that you could look at and inexpensive enough to buy.
- Use a Neutral color, like Antique White. I have it in my Kitchen. I am always changing the colors. Christmas,it might be Red. Sometimes Yellow,Now I have Blue. All I do is change the curtains, rugs, and tablecover to match. Add some colored Glass or canister set,(I have a Few), maybe Placemats and napkins. It is very easy to match colors, with a Neutral background.
- you literally stole my idea at the end there, lol ...... you're right, an accent wall would be excellent. first, pick a color to paint the remaining three walls (you want three solid walls and the final accent wall). you should consider the colors you want your room to be for an extended period of time (keep in mind you can get a new bed set, so don't just go based on that). if you decide to stick with your bedset, here's a really neat, creative, and super easy idea (would work with your current bedset or a new one if you decide on that) ..... pick 3-4 colors that you prefer. pick your accent wall (should be the wall that you first see when you walk into the room, where your bed is, etc). then, take the darkest (or deepest) color of the ones you've chosen, and paint the solid three walls that color. then, on the accent wall, line it with tape to make straight-across boxes, or diagonally for diamonds, and paint them assortedly the 3-4 colors .... mix it up. in the end, it makes a real eye-catcher, and you'll love the way your room feels. it's a step out of the ordinary, and perfect for a teen's room. ps .. dont be afraid to paint the three walls black if that's one of the colors you choose. it sounds really gothic but actually has a really calming and grown-up feel, especially if you have wood floors. and it's easy on the eyes. you'd be surprised!
