What is the name of this movie where some kind of troll thing lives in a little girl's bedroom wall?
A single mother lives in a house with her daughter, who has a pet bird (I think it was a parrot). The little girl takes in a stray cat, but her mother told her not to. The next morning, they find the bird mangled and killed in its cage, but the little girl doesn't believe the cat did it. One night, the little girl finds out that there is a troll living in her wall, and it killed the bird with a dagger. I think the cat might have been killed by the troll too at some point. The little girl sets some kind of trap for the troll, in which the troll manages to get thrown into the open fan (this kind of fan: http://www.cpsc.gov/cpscpub/prerel/prhtml06/06049.jpg) and it dies, so the little girl is able to prove to her mother that the cat didn't kill the bird. I saw this movie a long time ago, when I was a little kid, and I want to know what it is.

- Cat's Eye (1985) aka Stephen King's Cat's Eye starring Drew Barrymore, James Woods, Alan King, Kenneth McMillan, Robert Hays, Candy Clark, James Naughton IMDb synopsis: Three horror-thriller tales revolve around a mysterious stray cat which is attempting to find a little girl in trouble. In "Quitters, Inc.": the cat is picked up by a shady New York "doctor" who uses experimental techniques to get people to quit smoking. His latest client is a man named Morrison, who learns he'll suffer some terrible consequences if he tries to cheat. In "The Ledge": the cat is picked up by Cressner, a shady Atlantic City millionaire who forces tennis pro Norris (his wife's lover), to walk a narrow ledge around his high-rise penthouse apartment. In "The General": the cat arrives in Wilmington, North Carolina, where it is found by Amanda, the young girl it has been sent to protect. What she needs protection from is a tiny, evil troll who lives behind the skirting board in her bedroom. Why the thumbs down? *sigh* EDIT 2: Are people are just passing out thumbs down to all right answers? The other two posters have "Cat's Eye", too. The trolls must be out tonight. EDIT 3: I had the corrected answer when I received the thumbs down. Also, there were no other answers when I changed from "Eye of the Cat" to "Cat's Eye". My memory played a trick on me, but I corrected it in about 2 seconds.
- It's "Cat's Eye" and it was actually 3 separate stories from Stephen King. The little girl you mentioned was played by Drew Barrymore. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0088889/
