What colors go with....in our master bedroom?

We are decorating our master bedroom. We want to paint, get curtains, new bedspread and visuals. We are thinking of painting it a maroon(ish)color? or possibly a Hunter Green color? What color would go good with a Maroon painted room and what color would go with a Hunter Green painted room? We have pink sitting area (2 chairs and 2 foot stools) in the room as well, so the colors should fit in with a touch of pink. Please and Thank-you in advance for your answers.

  1. Hmmmm... pink?? Lets see: First off here is this tool you both will have some fun with: its a virtual room designer and its really great. Here's the link. I liked it because it gave me some really good ideas: http://www.findanyfloor.com/VirtualRoomDesigner.xhtml With the pink couches... have you maybe thought of a chocolate brown? It seems like you aren't afraid to go with deeper, darker colors and personally a milk chocolate brown would accent the pink (add a few accent pillows on the couch too) that would be really beautiful. Since the couches are a pinky color the browns would really richen everything up! I personally wouldn't go with the maroon because it will bring in too much of the reds/pinks etc. It wont look balanced. ya know? If you wanted to go with Maroon - use it for your curtains... that will tie the couches to it, and the couch accent pillow to the walls - making an even balance for your space! That's all I have for ya... I hope this helps!
  2. Hi Nice colors ya got there. I must say. Try minimalistic hues like White. It will match with both Maroon and Hunter Green. Get nice comfy sofas from http://www.sofasnyc.com/
  3. Is the room HUGE? If it is not huge, you are going to make it look very small with hunter green or maroon walls. Think about the size of the room before picking a color. You also have to coordinate things with the pink chairs. Maroon will be a hard match. You need to find a way to tie the chairs into the other items you use. This bedding http://www.garnethill.com/jump.jsp?itemID=18321&itemType=PRODUCT&path=1%2C2%2C5%2C9019%2C9036&iProductID=18321 would pull in the pink of the chairs. You could use a paint like Benjamin Moore Burnt Peanut Red OR Benjamin Moore Toasted Almond. (I suggest painting all walls one color with white trim). Rainbow bedding like this http://www.garnethill.com/jump.jsp?itemID=19292&itemType=PRODUCT&path=1%2C2%2C5%2C9019%2C9036&iProductID=19292 gives you a lot of options. Considering the pink chairs, I like Benjamin Moore Yellow Lilies for the walls with brown and maroon sheets like in image 3. Another idea is brown and white bedding like this http://www1.macys.com/catalog/product/index.ognc?ID=367458&CategoryID=25500 with light tan walls like Benjamin Moore Chilled Charodaney. Or this bedding http://www.crateandbarrel.com/family.aspx?c=1615&f=31812 with Huntington Green Walls. Start by at least picking a bedding, then ask for help here about curtains and artwork. Just remember the pink chairs!
  4. If you have pink involved in the deal I would stick with Maroon for your wall colors. Different tones of grey or Mauve would go with both of those. If you had a print that has those colors in it may have some greens also. If you are looking for something custom made look me up at the website below.
