Coordinating paint in master bedroom with bathroom?
I am painting my bathroom and am in the process of picking out colors. Eventually I would also like to paint my bedroom with an accent wall. (Currently it is all white) The painter suggested I coordinate my master bathroom color with my accent wall in the bedroom. Although, I am leaning towards some very "bathroom-like" greens and/or blues. Is this coordination necessary? Any advice? Thank you.

- you should do your bathroom like a blue shade and then paint the bedroom brown and have an accebt wall be the same blue as da bathroom.
- The coordination is necessary with respect to the two rooms complimenting each other as I assume, that you can see both rooms while standing in either. The paint does not have to necessarily be the same color or same color family but it definitely needs to coordinate nicely. The easiest way to make sure of the "coordinating effect" is to do as the painter suggests. To choose the bathroom color you have a few options... 1. same as the bedroom accent wall 2. use a lighter or darker shade of the accent wall for bathroom. If the bath is really well lit/ lots of windows, a darker color may be alright. 3. choose a bathroom color that is very similar to the accent wall, only slightly more green or blue. 4. paint the bathroom the same color as the other 3 walls in the bedroom (what color are you using)?
- Too many choices. Complimentary is good - color charts will help - blue to orange - red-green - yellow- purple, etc. Different shades work great. Dark to light vs light to dark. Large rooms -darker color - lighter colors for smaller room. Look through house magazines to give yourself some ideas. I saw one room going from olive green to a real dark shade of olive to a simply marvelous golden yellow with different shades of sable brown here and there. One wall had a lovely color of cranberry. The world is yours
