How can I arrange my furniture in my room?
I'm moving into a bigger bedroom and want to arrange my furniture in a more modern layout but still make the room look big and spacious. I'm tired of everything going against a wall, and having the perimeter of my room cramped with stuff surrounded by an open space in the middle. I have one dresser, a night stand, twin bed, computer and desk and a smaller cabinet with study related items in it, as well as a tv set. I am not sure if I should combine everything or as some magazines portray, section my room off with one area dedicated to lounge and study and then a sleeping area. I am thinking something similar to pottery barn teen rooms or ikea model rooms, I am just not sure how to go bout it

- Really it is a great fun to decorate the large bedroom...You can use various accessories in your room so that the atmosphere in your room will be pleasant...Here are some beautiful varieties to decorate your room..http://www.homelivingstyle.com/Bedroom_Furniture_s/646.htm
- Get some graph paper, cut out shapes to scale of your furniture, then draw a scale map of your new space. You might want to color the furniture or the floor plan, so you can see what you are doing. It is much easier to move little pieces of paper around than big pieces of furniture! I love the shoe "Freestyle" on HGTV; they help people figure out how to arrange their stuff so the room looks more pulled together, without buying anything. They work with what you have. Really good ideas there. If you have the space, definitely give yourself a lounge/study area separate from the bed area. I find it helps to keep the dresser--clothes storage--near the closet--clothes storage. I also like to be able to see the TV from my bed, even when I have the luxury of a lounge area n my bedroom Putting your bed against a wall will open up the center more, and give you space to put in a comfortable chair, maybe.. Good Luck!
