teen bedroom?

I am a teen girl looking to re-do her room. I have decided that the colors will be teal and red. Also i want it to be a sofisticated NYC theme....any ideas? -also, i know about PBTeen and it will not work for me. I also know about ikea and i love it.....i just need great design ideas thx! :D

2. I think if you are going for sophisticated then lighting is going to be important. I would try and go for hidden lights above the window and lights on the side of the wall. I would then go for a bed without a frame and only a base. This will make it blend in and not be a feature. For teenagers I would recommend a full length mirror, either as a closet door or inside a closet door. Then I would make a proper preparation area for hair and makeup that has fluorescent lights on the side of the mirror and a plug socket for your straightener or hair dryer. I like the square frame idea with canvas that you can paint on and use Velcro to stick it to the wall to change it when you want. Then I would go with box shelves to display some other items.
3. grey accessories and beech wood furniture would go really nicely with that theme. with those bright colours it is probably better to keep things quite minimal. no too much junk on surfaces just a couple of candles or something and maybe think about keeping books and stuff behind closed doors A low bed would look good and as you said you like ikea - ikea has a brilliant one called malm that is quite stylish or one called mandal that has storage underneath to keep the junk away. Then just get a nice grey bedspred and grey or teal pillowcases. I would go for venetian blinds to help the minimalist look
