I need help with decorating a teen bedroom pink, green, and zebra print?

I'm decorating my room zebra print, pink and green. My walls will be pink and my butterfly chair is green. I have no idea what else I should do, knowing I am on a budget.

  1. Interesting combination. Do you plan on getting a comforter in a zebra pattern then? Or having zebra throw pillow(s) on the chair and bed with some other color comforter? Can you get zebra material and some fabric spray and cover a lampshade as another accent piece? Hanging black and white prints of pictures in the room in black frames? Is your furniture white? If using a comforter in either green or pink, and having throw pillows in zebra, pink, green, and if you don't have a headboard--can you make one using zebra print wrapped around canvas squares and hung above your bed? It's about tying in the colors together. And making sure the room is uncluttered and neatly organized for enjoyment. How about adding as a final touch, a nice small tropical plant in there somewhere, too.

  3. If you're already a teenager, you'll soon regret having pink walls. Keep the pink and green as accents. Introduce black into your scheme.
  4. i agree, that you may want to reconsider painting your walls pink. it would look ok but you'll get sick of it pretty quick. id stick with a neutral color and use the pink and green and zebra print as accent colors. maybe just do a boarder. You couldnt buy one or just paint like pink and green polka dots as a boarder near the ceiling or do one in the middle of the walls. if you want pink on your walls use ceiling to floor curtins in pink. id get like a green comforter then pink pillows and zebra print pillows and maybe a pink throw blanket. get candles, lamp shades, shelves, picture frames, rugs, paint your furniture, ect in the accent colors. these colors are really popular so you shouldnt have trouble finding them. good luck this sounds like a really cute idea. but be careful not to go overboard. keep it simple with a few focus points to make things really stand out. i bet stores like hobby lobby would have cute ideas! check their website!
  5. try doing a rainbow zebra print on a black or a white background. I agree that you will most likely grow out of the pink, so make it not so permanent, like a pillow. If the walls are rainbow, you will always love them, no matter what mood you are in. As far as being on a budget goes, Lowe's hardware stores have places where they have discounted cast off paint, and you can have them mix those colors a bit. And if you only need a little of a color, they sell sample size. Good luck.
  6. To get the most amount of zebra feel into your room, you need a single zebra focal point. Try an area rug for this, as they give you the max amount of bang for your buck. An area rug such as this: http://houseofarearugs.com/Nolita-1310-Black-And-White-p-216.html is great for a budget. Throw pillows on your bed also help add to your theme, but mix them up with one zebra print, one pink and two green or find a combo that you like. With pink walls, you should steer away from pink bedding. White would be good in a room such as yours, or a variation of the green in your chair. Find little zebra knick knacks that you like and display them around your room. There are tons of small decor items at stores such as Ross or TJ Maxx. Even Walmart has animal print items in their decor section.
