Teen Bedroom Ideas - With Wood Paneling?

Okay, so I'm a 15 year old girl, and my family is moving to a new house in a few months and my new bedroom has wood paneling in it. I've never had wood paneling before, and I don't know how to make it look good in my room design, since I can't paint it. 1. Why can't you paint it? I would paint the paneling then pick out a cute bedspread/comforter for the room.
2. The bedspread tells me you like darker colours so I would paint all the furniture black. Id hang some sheer white curtains on the window with darker curtains on the sides. Also put some fairy lights in the room to lift it up, lots of bright colorful cushions on the bed, and maybe make a statement with a red desk as a feature piece and red cushions fresh red flowers make the room look and smell good. Of course you may chose another color. I think its great you care so much about the space where you will live, it shows you love yourself.
3. If you can't paint it because your parents won't let you, so be it. But just so you know, wood paneling can be painted. Just use a good primer first.
