trying to pick out paint colors for bedroom?

I'm trying to redecorate my apartment (everything's all done except the paint). I'm not very good with the whole matching colors thing so I was hoping someone could help me figure out what to do. I need to figure out what color for my bedroom. It needs to be a semi-dark color because I work overnights so I sleep during the day, so I don't like bright colors in my bedroom. To help you figure out what to tell me for colors, I'll tell you about the furniture I have in my room (p.s. please note I'm a guy and would like masculine colors): Full bed with black satin sheets and white comforter with maroon pillow cases. 2 black nightstands a brown dresser (but I could probably get a new one in different color if you recommend it) a 42" black flat screen/panel tv I'm looking for something contemporary or catchy, i'm only 21 so I'd like something "hip" Thanks!

1. choose pink ,something easy to relax with, to sleep happy.
2. The one color that would go with everything -- black, brown and maroon -- is a dark taupe. Taupe is a combination of gray and beige and a very commonly used color. Go to a paint store and start looking through the beiges -- find a nice, dark (but not TOO dark) grayish tone that you like. Have fun!

4. dark blue, maroon, a dark purple, or black. that's what id suggest.
5. I would recommend something dark blue or dark maroon. Since your furniture is black, you can always buy new sheets. You can go to home depot and they can give you a small sample of paint to try, and see how it works out, you can get more samples too. Just do a small area and see how it clashes with your belongings. Good luck.
