Help with decorating a teen bedroom (girl) ASAP!?

Im reposting a similar question from before because the last one nobody answered. But here i go again.... 1.My bedroom is very boring right now (PLAIN WALLS), the only thing on my walls is Sky blue, with a hot pink thickish horizantal line across the middle (above a bit) of my walls. So pretty much the Color Scheme is SKY BLUE-WHITE-HOTPINK-AND POSSIBLY LIGHT PURPLE. 2.I dont know what to hang on my walls 3.My bedroom is small and i've been pulling my hair out (jk lol) for 2 years now and dont know how i should rearrange my bedroom, except the way i have it now is sorta okay. 4.I just REALLY REALLY REALLY NEED DECORATING IDEAS FOR MY BEDROOM :] So if you could please help me out with some decorating ideas or websites with pictures of cool rooms besides: -PBTEEN -JCPENNY -WAKEUPFRANKIE -IKEA -DELIAS -HGTV (or rate my space) THANKS SOOOOO MUCH :] you peeps arent getting the point i cant re-paint my bedroom i just need ideas for what to decorate with. also i am a dancer, singer, and gymnast. i also love music and shoes. would putting up photographs be cool? or if i hung old pointe' shoes or a record CD.?

  1. try putting up posters
  2. It's tough to give suggestion on how to arrange furniture without a picture to see your space. But some other website that may give you some inspiration are: www.cb2.com www.apartmenttherapy.com Sometimes you can get some cool ideas on paint websites like: www.benjaminmoore.com www.behr.com
  3. Is painting out of the question? Or I suppose I shouldn't say painting... wall stensils? Basically thats where you get a few of your favorite sayings made up and put on clear transfer paper and put them on your walls. It looks amazing from my experience. Where I am from it's fairly cheap as well ($20-$40) to do a couple sayings. Then you might consider a new bedspread that is a few different colors, you can buy them just about anywhere, or for more fun, make it. The great thing about both of these, is that it's very easy to change. The sayings come off easily by peeling them, the bedspread changes easily. Also a neat idea that will help with organizing is boxes made of either wicker or wood that hang on the walls. Very easy to make, or can be purchased from pretty much any store. (Target, WalMart, etc) Can be painted to match room. If you are creative, why not buy some chalkboard paint and do a section of your wall in that so you can constantly redecorate? Throw Rugs almost always can be changed out as well to match your current mood or color scheme. Also, mirrors placed in the room will help make it look MUCH bigger if put in the right places :) Hopefully those ideas helped out a bit.
  4. Ok, you are really really vague with what styles you like (ornate, comtemporary, ultra-fem/girly, retro, what??), and you give no actual descriptions of what you already have other than the colors and that the room is "small".... I assume you have a bed, but no idea as to what else you've got to work with or what color furniture you have. Plus, do you have a budget -- $20? $2000? -- or are you just looking so you can figure out what style you like? Having said all that, and assuming that you want to keep your current color scheme and that you have little money to spend, here's a few pictures/ideas: 1st link -- notice the wood accents & decor -- it's a cool sort of artwork without going the usual pictures route, plus it's something that will be good as an adult as well AND be very flexible with other color schemes 2nd link -- a younger look, but feather masks on the wall and flowers-on-black artwork in the window are good ideas. Plus, here's a way where putting a bed in front of a window can actually be a plus, since it sorta makes it a lounge spot and not just a bed (and frees up floor space). 3rd link -- think miami tropics; adding lime green and a simple palm tree art piece was all it took to take this room a bit there from the color scheme you already have. You don't have to go tropical, but the fact is that the colors work together in a fun and vibrant way -- just add green. The theme is a bonus that you can change with a few posters. 4th link -- Mostly look at the "stencils" -- they're not permanent but just paper or fabric put up and around the headboard. reverse the colors to a white pattern on blue and you can do something similar with any large pattern you like. The blue background doesn't have to match your walls -- the tone on tone thing will actually look artsy, as long as you cut it out neatly (not necessarily straight or square or even in a single line -- just in a consistent way; consistently ragged, for example). Hang them in a line or artsy and mount them on the wall with double-sided tape, tacks, or poster stickers. It's more personal and decorative than posters, there's no framing or real grunt work involved, and you can even make custom ones by painting them yourself on blue construction paper or fabric if you want to. Don't be afraid to deconstruct or experiment, especially with cheap materials. Good luck and good fun decorating.
